Because men in their 40's and 50's think marriage is a great idea if they still have young kids that another wife could get them out of paying daycare or child support for.
But when they get old enough to babysit themselves or clean house for them they just want to hang out the weekend the kids are with Mom in hopes you will be the friend with benefits and cook real meals instead of live on pizza and chicken nuggets. Then when they get a little older they want to live in "Mom's" house so they inherit it. So again it is the occasional "romantic" weekend at your place but then if they get it they don't want to risk getting it taken if they get caught fooling around again so they never quite want to move past "player". Last but certainly not least it seems like the ones who do want to get married really want to have a green card but still drag back and forth from the old country and or host the "family" like a Howard Johnsons and suddenly loose their English skills so it is like being stranded in a foreign country where you are the maid. I haven't seen this as a girlfriend but the late seventies tend to spark another round of wanting live in partnership because nurses are really expensive. lol Oh yea now I have been single a while I am finding out it really isn't that bad. Sometimes I actually like it. |

Sometimes I actually like it. I would tend to agree.. if they have young kids and they have custody they want a new mama to help raise them if they never learned to cook or clean the house they want a new housekeeper and someone to make homemade meals for them if they have a lot of hobbies they want a woman that will just go along for the ride with whatever it is they like to do many, MANY seem to not want marriage ever again due to a bad divorce and are carrying around major commitment issues then there is the whole slew of middle aged men who are just looking for someone they can call up now and then for a booty call |

"just looking for someone they can call up now and then for a booty call"
There is a problem with this? You can live your perfect life with out a man and just use us when "needed". lol Just teasing! |

Why am I single? My husband and I were supposed to grow old together. But sadly, he died on me. That was almost ten years ago. At my age, I'm still hoping to fall in love again. My adult kids say "Go for it, mom!" Bless their hearts. Of course, my kids think I'm the bestest mom in the world.

I'm single because after 4yrs Ina relationship and a child that's almost 2 my wife to be(we were engaged) blindsided me with her wanting to leave and never gave me a chance to find out why. With 18 hrs of the words leaving her mouth she left with all her belongings leaving our child and me to fend for ourselves. Didn't hear from her until the following week asking when she can see our child. Idk how a person that I loved with all my heart and gave everything to(emotional and financially) can just leave and not look back with without any sadness or regret but that's how I'm single.
