They need to start loading up mental facilities. This has gone on long enough! How many more students have to die??? was there any indication this one was mental ? 10 dead people might be an indication.. crime is not proof of mental illness,,, Proof and indication have different meanings... I agree,, but the former is preceded by the latter and in this case, if there was no indicator or diagnosis before the incident that he has mental illness, there is no 'proof' 'stable' is a subjective standard, many here that I dont find too stable myself,, but thats not a MEDICAL diagnosis,,,which would be a different standard than the non qualified 'personal' opinions people base their judgements on sane people can do insane things,,the insanity of the action does not mean they were not sane ,,,which is a medical standard and not a social one,,, without that medical diagnosis its hard to help people or be able to act upon threats and the idea of some arbitrary standards to 'force' people into mental care is much scarier than the idea of gun control,,,,to me |

If a person is mentally unstable or not is really not an excuse to break the law. Should mental health be more accessible yes . Gun control is a big topic and unfortunately there has been quite a few school shootings some kind of arrangement or agreement should be made towards this issue be it with the government , schools, parents people in general.

No link but I saw the local sheriff in a clip of a news conference ask the media to not mention the shooters name. Im all for that...frick these cowards and the notoriety they want.
Also, as far as mental health issues....maybe some of these shooter types are just plain evil. |

and the idea of some arbitrary standards to 'force' people into mental care is much scarier than the idea of gun control,,,,to me
As far as I know, all states require a doctor and a judge to sign the order to have someone involuntarily committed. What's "arbitrary" about that?
"Gun control" is not crime control. It's not even about guns; it's about control. Did you know that Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, the Columbine murderers, were originally intending to blow up the school with two bombs made with 20 lb. propane cylinders? Do we need background checks before someone can buy any compressed flammable gas? "If gun control worked, Chicago would be Mayberry right now. Real life is gun control not working in Chicago. Real life is gun control failing in Camden, New Jersey, and Oakland, California, and a lot of other communities in this country . . ." -- Cam Edwards |

The news I saw looked like he was targeting Christians. The Christians were killed and non-Christians were shot in the leg

The news I saw looked like he was targeting Christians. The Christians were killed and non-Christians were shot in the leg That's right. FoxNews, Washington News New York Post, & Christian & Conservative News & Alterative News & some overseas coverage, mainly India & Israel, covered that. Because you know... the alphabet networks..want to pretend that Christians aren't persecuted & being slaughtered through out the world now. |

BREAKING NEWS: OREGON MASS SHOOTING
BROKEN RECORD: BOBAMA CALLS FOR MORE GUN LAWS At the time of this writing on Thursday evening, very little is known about the sick sonofabitch who shot up a community college in Oregon (which had no armed security), snuffing out lives and dreams before the police blew him to Hell (we hope literally). We know that the shooter (whose name we won't repeat here) was 26 years old, not a student at the college, and there are reports that he was forcing his victims to state their religion: Christians got a bullet to the head, everyone else was shot in the legs. Only hours after the shooting, BO took to the airways to - in his own words - politicize this appalling tragedy. f+or once he was telling the truth, saying that when voters go to the polls, they need to keep in mind that voting for a certain political party was essentially a vote for continuing mass murder. Really, Barry? Is THAT your healing message for a wounded nation? He lied his *** off asserting that America basically lacks any real regulation of guns at all, and claiming that no other developed nation on Earth has problems with mass shootings - a statement which would make for a pretty good satire at Charlie Hebdo if the writers and artists hadn't been massacred by zealots from Obama's favorite religion of Peace. He then challenged reporters to print stories comparing the number of Americans killed by terror to the number killed by gun violence - a "twofer" for BO which allows him to use still-fresh murders for his own political ends while also giving cover to radical Islamic terror. Here's a question for you, Bo Hussein - when the papers print those body counts, how often do you think the one day total for gun violence will exceed the thousands of Americans who died on a single day in September back in 2001? Obama lectured our stupid, stupid country on our failure to control guns when it comes to mass shootings, but never mentioned the fact that in his home town of Chicago 50 people were shot over the weekend. Which happens to be the case pretty much every goddamned weekend. So here's an idea, Barry. Why don't you take your brilliant "common sense" proposals to remove guns from the hands of criminals and lunatics and apply it to Chicago so we can see how beautifully it works? If it's a terrific success, then you can apply those same regulations nationwide to usher in a new era of idyllic peace and, as a bonus, Hope n' Change will personally kiss your *** on the White House lawn. If it's not, well, at least you accomplished your real goal in addressing the nation: using the blood of innocents to distract the media from your foreign policy fiascos and your complete failure as a leader. from a Post on FB. |

Saw this post in another site. States my opinion even better than I can....
"" The problem with all these mass-shootings doesn't lie with guns, the law, or even mental health. The problem is that we've created several generations of coddled little babies who don't know how to deal with adversity. They are taught that life is "fair" and that there is no such thing as winning or losing (everyone gets a trophy). Make a B in a class? Mommy and Daddy will raise hell until the teacher raises it to an A. They never have to learn from failure and deal with its impact. Then when they enter the real world and it kicks them in the nuts, they are not equipped to deal with it, so they lash out in irrational ways. To answer your question...there is no change needed to gun control, unless we simply do away with control altogether. Guns aren't the problem. Puzzies are the problem."" |
