Eljay....that ones is next....Im totally hooked......I would give The Present Darkness a 10 out of 10....its starts a lil slow but in 40 pages you can't put it down...What I love about it....is that I read and just want to post it to the threads.....because i see all the demons in the different threads......hmmm maybe I should just pray for them to leave whenever I go to a new thread......satan or his cronies would not dare step in here...I rebuke them always in the name of Jesus.......

Good morning feralcat. great to see you.

Would you like to do a brief review of the book "The Present Darkness"? What was it (after the 40 or so pages) that really got your attention? Any particular point that really resonated with you?

Hope you have a great weekend, everyone.

God bless,

I don't even want to say britty.....I just want everyone to read. Maybe a bookclub....Let everyone read and then discuss it. If I review it I would give it away.....I think the biggest factor is he is a Christian writer who applies the evil that we all know is here to todays society and how it is dealt with by God.

It's truly one of the best books I have ever read.

Feralcat, that's understandable.

I went online and got an overall idea of the content, so decided to order them. I have a friend who I believe will be interested in reading them also.

A book club would be a novel idea :)
Be interesting to see how that would work online.

God bless,

'attitude of gratitude' is one of the best gifts we can give ourselves. It assures us blessings and to never take the things we have for granted. Even in the bleakest day of depression, the darkest night of heartbreak, there is always much to be grateful for.

To be able to move our limbs, see, hear, speak ... all these things are priceless and we seldom realise just how much until we lose them.

Blessed am I flowerforyou

Hey cutiful LAMOM.....you are so right......The things we take for granted. I just found out Thursday that my oldest 15 is legally blind in her right eye.....there is nothing we can do....As a mommy it hit me in the pit of my stomach...did phase her.....all she could say is think of all the stuff I can get out at school because no more contact sports and being careful of her good eye.

But we all know that the Lord made the blind to see.......and even if the sight doesn't come back....I had to step back in awe and her insightfullness....Love you guys.......Im so glad you checked Denise.

WORDS TO LIVE BY

Accept that some days you're the pigeon,
and some days you're the statue

Always keep your words soft and sweet,
just in case you have to eat them.

Always read stuff that will make you look
good if you die in the middle of it.

Drive carefully. It's not only cars that
can be recalled by their maker.

Eat a live toad in the morning and nothing
worse will happen to you for the rest of the day.

If you can't be kind, at least have the
decency to be vague.

If you lend someone $20, and never see
that person again, it was probably worth it.

It may be that your sole purpose in life
is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Never buy a car you can't push.

Never put both feet in your mouth at the
same time, because then you don't
have a leg to stand on.

Nobody cares if you can't dance well.
Just get up and dance.

The early worm gets eaten by the bird,
so sleep late.

When everything's coming your way,
you're in the wrong lane.

Birthdays are good for you; the more
you have, the longer you live.

You may be only one person in the world,
but you may also be the world to one person.

Some mistakes are too much fun
to only make once.

Don't cry because it's over;
smile because it happened.

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty, some
are dull, some have weird names, and
all are different colors but they all
have to learn to live in the same box.

A truly happy person is one who can
enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Happiness comes through doors you
didn't even know you left open.

Have an awesome day, and know that
someone has thought about you today....

Good morning everyone,

I am a little late getting up this morning. The sun is shining and it's time I got out there.

Submitting to God’s Purpose

I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some —1 Corinthians 9:22

A Christian worker has to learn how to be God’s man or woman of great worth and excellence in the midst of a multitude of meager and worthless things. Never protest by saying, "If only I were somewhere else!" All of God’s people are ordinary people who have been made extraordinary by the purpose He has given them. Unless we have the right purpose intellectually in our minds and lovingly in our hearts, we will very quickly be diverted from being useful to God. We are not workers for God by choice.

Many people deliberately choose to be workers, but they have no purpose of God’s almighty grace or His mighty Word in them. Paul’s whole heart, mind, and soul were consumed with the great purpose of what Jesus Christ came to do, and he never lost sight of that one thing. We must continually confront ourselves with one central fact— ". . . Jesus Christ and Him crucified" ( 1 Corinthians 2:2 ).

"I chose you . . ." ( John 15:16 ). Keep these words as a wonderful reminder in your theology. It is not that you have gotten God, but that He has gotten you. God is at work bending, breaking, molding, and doing exactly as He chooses. And why is He doing it? He is doing it for only one purpose— that He may be able to say, "This is My man, and this is My woman." We have to be in God’s hand so that He can place others on the Rock, Jesus Christ, just as He has placed us.

God bless all.

Shadow, good to see you here.

If you should recollect the name of the movie, let us know.

Hope everyone enjoyed their day. I took a drive into Rhode Island, still some fall colors on the trees. It was pretty, driving down some nice tree-lined roads with the sun peaking through.

thank you God...

Just listening to some music as I relax here.

Thought I would share the words of one song I particularly like:

The Heart of Worship

When the music fades
All is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring that's of worth
That will bless Your heart

I'll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what you have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You're looking into my heart

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You
It's all about you, Jesus
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it
When it's all about You
It's all about you, Jesus

King of endless worth
No one could express
How much You deserve
Though I'm weak and poor
All I have is Yours
Every single breath

Does anyone else have a song that touches you in a special way?

Lincoln Brewster sings this song called You are the One and here are the lyricsflowerforyou I like it....

You're the One Who made the heavens
You're the One Who shaped the earth
You're the One Who formed my heart
Long before my birth
I believe You'll always lead me
All my days have been ordained
All Your thoughts toward me are holy
Full of love and grace

You are the One You are holy
You are the One You are worthy
You are the One You are the One everlasting
You are the One

You are the One I will worship
You are the One I will serve all my days
You are the One You are the one everlasting

You are the One
Jesus You're the One

Britty & Feralcat;

I read the 2 "Darkness" books of Peretti about 17 years ago. Back then - Christian mystries, and fiction was in it's infancy pretty much. There were lots of Christian Historical novels, and romance - but the market for mysteries and thrillers had not developed yet. Since that time - it has exploded. Peretti introduced me to this wonderful gendre. I've read over 200 Christian mystries/thrillers/Historicals since then, and have close to 200 on my bookshelves I've yet to read.

The Peretti novel that was made into a movie is called "The Visitation". The novel is much better than the movie, but the movie is still pretty good. Also - the "Left Behind" series is absolutely fascinating. I highly recommend it. It is 12 novels that take the reader through Revelation - beginning from the Rapture, and truly bring the book of Revelation to life. There have been 2 movies made from this series. Curt Cameron is the lead in the movies.
