Hello, I'm known on this site as greybeard45, AKA Tom.I haven't had much legitimate success on this site trying to operate on my own. I guess I was a little naive when it came to internet dating sites. This is the one and only site that I've ever been on, and it took me weeks of thinking about it before doing it. Now, I'm 69 years old and still very active, so when beautiful 18 to 35 year old women began getting in touch with me I thought it must just be my good looks that's attracting them . I'm a retired police detective, so I figured that out right away . The first thing they did was get me off site and immediately begin, over a couple of days telling me how much they admire my age and maturity. So, my chest starts puffing out a little, and I'm thinking, "yeah! boy you've still got it!" Yeah, you big dummy, wait till tomorrow when she asks for money so she can travel to meet you. And, sure enough tomorrow came and there it was ..... she needed $200.00 to travel 20 miles for our meeting ...... and, of course that relationship hit the rocks, as did several others over the few days that I've been on here. I immediately thought I need to get off this site and stay off the internet sites."You're not sharp enough to deal with this ****"! I then stumbled onto the Community - New Members Welcome Area. The people on here certainly seem legit. I suppose there could be scammers here too ..... we'll see.

Never go off site til a meet and greet
Heck if you have a smart phone you don't have to go off til after meet and greet
Never send money to anyone no matter how they make your heart flutter.
Don't believe everything on the internet
anyone can be anything on here, so you trust and wait it out
liars can't hold it we both know that they will slip up..

That seems just about right. It's sort of annoying, but I try to have fun with it when it happens to me. This is my first time on this site, but I've been on others, and it happens everywhere. I usually like to yank the real scammers around a little before I cut the line. It's great fun. :)
