Apparently ladies, when we are thinking, contemplating, pondering,and just not thinking about what we look like... our facial muscles are so fricking relaxed we look angry and unapproachable.

I wouldn't say unapproachable.. id label it as mesmerized with wonder..

I wonder if that's related to Resting Poop Face.
Where people just look like they're trying to pinch one off.

...It might not be resting though.
Some people need glasses but are too vain to have their sight checked.

I guess with attention spans being what they are anymore it takes too long to say "you've got f'off stamped on your forehead," so "RBF" had to be invented.


You can also play jedi mind tricks.
Like say you're fine....but you're not fine...and cause everything to not be fine.

Happens to me. I have had people come uo and ask if I'm ok or if something's wrong. I did this a lot while teaching dance. I would focus on the dance and technique and looked like I was mad but when the dance was over, I went back to me. I told people that was my concentration face and it takes effort for me lol

When I am angry it's not just my face that shows it.

When I think I frown

I smile everything's smiles

I am an open book.

Actually I think this is not a gender specific problem.

Heard guys complain that they are nice guys but the ladies just don't notice or flirt with them and then I watch them and sure enough they look so unapproachable that it is no wonder. Happens in real life and on line.

Scan 100 profiles then go back six months and see who is still around looking for a Mingle match and the most common factor is a lead shot that is distant (sun glasses or a hat that suggests they are leaving and no eye contact with the "reader" ) and or no smiling photo.

I smile so much, and so often, that when I do not everyone thinks something is wrong.

So now its a RBF.

I believe there is a whole on-line thing about this, although it is called "B%^%$% Resting Face". Some folks when they are not actively smiling, when they are just concentrating on something or thinking about nothing at all look angry to some people. This is not a gender specific phenomenon. I've had lots of people come up to me and ask what I was mad about when in fact at the time my mind was completely blank or I was just watching the TV over the bar.

Just FYI, it's become a modern fad to make up dramatic and usually hostility-based names for almost everything. I think it's supposed to be funny, but as with a lot of American humor at least, "funny" and "insulting" seems to go hand-in-hand.

I decided a while back now, to try to try to train myself into a more positive "resting face," though it was not primarily for the sake of mate-hunting.

I can sure relate to this one.Having people ask me why I'm pissed when in fact my day is going well.Gotta be aware of it for sure.
