So we all saw poor old and white Bernie Sanders get interrupted during a speech in Seattle by the Black Lives Matter protestors. Hijack the mic, dismiss the guy who's actually on your side, and give him no street cred for marching with MLK 50 years ago. What was interesting was the coverage I saw only mentioned in passing how rude it was to interrupt the speech, but it mostly keyed on the fact that the Sanders campaign 'had gotten their act together' by hiring a black female communications specialist.
We saw all kinds of national press regarding the one year anniversary of the Michael Brown shooting, not really because of the march itself, but because of the gunplay that wound up with a young man identified as a friend of Michael Brown in critical condition, after being shot by cops. The CNN coverage I saw today was basically the shooting was a couple thugs, that's not the protestors. That they are a year later still trying to figure out how to process the death of Brown and how the community is poor, and where is the money from government? We are today seeing a fair amount of national coverage in regards to a unarmed young black man shot dead in Dallas by a white rookie cop. The young man having crashed his SUV into a car dealership showroom late at night, and seen on video acting erratically, jumping on cars, etc before police arrive. Dead black kid, white cop, boom top story. However, how many people saw in depth coverage on THESE stories? A black female, calling herself 'Sunshine' protesting the recent death of Sandra Bland while in police custody in Waller County Texas, is captured on video saying repeatedly that all white people should be killed. Referring to whites and reporters as 'terrorists', she claims the world would be a much better place if all white people were dead. Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but pointing out a specific racial group, and saying they all should be killed is kind of the epitome of a race crime, is it not? WHY is she not in jail? What seemingly has received virtually ZERO national coverage is the slaughter of a family in Houston over the weekend. David Conley, a black man killed his ex girlfriend, her new boyfriend and SIX KIDS! Some victims were handcuffed before being shot multiple times. The children included at least one he had with the ex. Having served multiple sentences for domestic violence totalling almost 6 years, he still managed to get his hands on a gun in order to kill everyone. SO you KILL EIGHT BLACK PEOPLE and what, there's no CNN special "Death in Houston"? There's NO White House press conference where Obama comes out wanting more gun control? Saying these mass shootings have to end? That black deaths by crime have to stop? Where's Jesse, Rev. Al, Farrakhan????? Where are the Black Lives Matter folks? The silence is deafening people. Seems like quite the stunning double standard at play here. |

Well my question was if you had seen 'in-depth' coverage on these events, not the simple reporting of them having happened.
I don't consider Google and Yahoo my personal choices as repositories of hard hitting, analytical, long form interview news sources. I'm thinking more the CNN's, MSNBC's, FOX's, etc. With a body count similar to the Charleston killings, and arguably just as brutal a circumstance, (innocent people in church vs. innocent people in their home, handcuffed and shot.) I'm trying to understand why there isn't more media 'outrage'. Normally one could at least rely on a Nancy Grace interview where she tries to ramp up the fear, and tries to contextualize the terror. "Those poor babies hearing mama and daddy being shot." or conversely, "Those defenseless parents, handcuffed, and no way to protect their babies being shot by this man." You know, playing the gore card. Where's Don Lemon of CNN on this? Rachel Maddow? How is it possible in our 24 hour news cycle THIS STORY loses out to Donald Trump talking about where Megyn Kelly is or isn't bleeding from? REALLY? My assertion is frankly that the media does NOT give a rat's a** about 'black lives' unless it meets a narrative for THEM that will envelop issues of racial strife, killer cops, or gun control (assault rifles/high capacity magazines/background checks) or the simple body count. If it's horrendous black on black crime? The media's reaction? 'Meh. S*it happens.' |

In New Zealand they showed the police arresting him on our national tv news.
Domestic violence and murder happens in all society, races, classes and cultures. It is not the same as police vs black people or black people vs police. |

It's Texas he's a murderer and he will get lethal injection if he doesn't jump bail. I have a sneaking suspicion that his bail will be set so high that even Oprah couldn't afford it iF there is even an opportunity for bail. When someone commits a crime this heinous the only ones weeping for them will be their mother or the prison Chaplain. The public defender will probably protest having to sit next to him. Black Evil. Two different words. White Evil. Two different words. |

Ferguson shooting leads ABC evening news with David Muir. 50 people were arrested during the protests including several white suspects. As with the first incursion in Ferguson
<I believe many of those arrested or who became violent will prove not to be from Ferguson. For the shooting(s?) > 60 shots were fired in 45 seconds. That's 19 more than nypd fired at Amodou Diallo, only these were fired into a crowd. The teen shot was not at the scene of the original shooting as shown on the news and <I am highly doubtful that he would have been able to get very far from the scene if law enforcement proffessionals fired 60 shots at him. > The victim was shown face down immobile bleeding profusely handcuffed. Police say he opened fire first, there will be an investigation. The 'suspect' is in critical condition. |

The victim was shown face down immobile
The victim has been identified. Last name, "Nuffin"....first name, "Dindu".....
bleeding profusely handcuffed. |

Legalities...
"White people should be killed", is a matter of opinion. I've never seen a statute, that outlaws an opinion. Now, if she had said, "you should go kill whitey"... she might be guilty of inciting murder. Had she said, "I'm gonna kill yo' white @ss".'... yeah, that's an actionable threat, and can be charged as such. |
