displaying it? I also am all for it , if noone around is offended and no children are present.

Holding hands and a quick peck is fine since they are innocent.

Ya know its funny..
when I was married I hated that he never reached for my hand in car or that he always walked ten steps in front of me..or that he never had urge to just reach over and touch my face or kiss me |

When I first stepped back into dating pool again after divorce I dated this 6ft2 very attractive man who was five years younger...holy cow talk about chemistry!
after talking on phone and dating few times we were down in park walking in evening and just talking . We were very comfortable with each other and talked for hours..anyhow it was dusk and when we sat down on that bench he leaned over to kiss me and at first it was just a nice soft kiss but then it was like getting zapped with high voltage.his hat went flying and so did my sunglasses and we were so absorbed in kissing each other by time we looked up it was pitch dark out and neither one of us would have been able to tell you if people passed by or not |

I will say; my hubby loved to come up behind me and whisper something highly naughty/highly sexual suggestive into my ear and just stroll off like it was 'NO BIG DEAL' as my face was flushing a brilliant red and my neck was too!
Shopping Malls - Dinner events - landscape design seminars - at family reunions - while I was waiting in line for the beer & brats at a KC CHIEF GAME! He was ornery and demented that way...I miss that playfulness A LOT! |

Nice guy too with big brown puppy dog eyes and drove a big and shiny pick up truck and listened to country music and had a great job and his own house and a beautiful four year old son..man we must dated for 3 or 4 months..but his conversations had tendency to keep coming back to his ex wife and he had lot unresolved feelings for her so I told him he wasn't ready

But you're a smart women to put it out there like that; nothing worse then a 'BITTER/RESENTFUL' human that hasn't gotten over their recent past love! |

^ Unresolved feelings about their ex or emotionally unavailable = the story of my life with men I love.

"PDA'S"...Well I know I couldn't live with out the personal digital one lol...
Now moving onto the "Public Displays of Affections". There is tasteful and then there is tawdry. The line is a personal one. I personally don't care what others do. When I was in my 20's I would lip lock and be a bit more out there as I have aged... I will still engage in more tasteful acts... I am not going to judge others what they do as long as it isn't X-Rated, then I might say "Get a room"... |

A man must be affectionate but not carry it too far in public places, IMO. |

I love giving and receiving affection and it is not something I am shy about doing .. It is no secret i have a very mischievous playful nature and I like close contact but i am always guided by my partner's expectations and respect what is acceptable to him . That said .. I would not want to be with someone who dislikes affection in public or private . who could ever resist giving or receiving affection with such partner , i would do that even on mars ... with aliens all around |

I'm one of those people that doesn't care who see's a man kiss me and stuff. I'd rather have him feel he can kiss me any time. I wouldn't want him thinking that I'm some sort of prude. This is why I go for confident men. As they have no problem expressing themselves.

So you have a problem with a kiss, an arm around your shoulders, walking hand in hand etc??? If my partner has a problem showing affection in public, he's not the right one for me. I'm very physical, touchy, cuddly. And sure nothing in public that would offend other people. But I've been with a partner who never wanted to touch, hold hands, etc. I think it was part of his old-fashioned English upbringing. NO public affection, ever. Like we were two strangers that happened to walk next to each other. Doesn't work for me. Yeah. Sometimes the stiff upper lip thing is exactly what it says it is. It isn't very good, when it makes for an awkward time. If it doesn't make you feel butterflies, then it's really no wonder that you didn't stay in that relationship. I only date men who show affection. |

I think if PDA is done with class & respect, it's a very beautiful thing. Nothing too explicit, but showing love to one another lets the world know that real love is still in the world.

PDA: I personally think it's an age appropriate thing. For example I would never do more than hold hands in public & I cringe whenever I see people my age or older doing the "European facial" on the streets (in NYC you see waaaaay more than you want to walking to the subway past clubs & bars on a late Fri./Sat. night LOL!) I understand when it's 2 teenagers on the subway b/c where else can they get close to each other? For full grown adults, it should be a behind closed doors thing. When you know better, you must do better.
