Okay I have been on mingle for a while. I've gotten I'd say about 12 people that have text me and every one of them was a scam. I guess mingle does not check the people on their list.

have you been on other singles sights ?
this is the one with the least amount of scammers i have been on
18 different sights and the pay sights are the worst

you Que is like asking if all the cops catch all the bad people lol

Mingle2 is a FREE site. Free sites do NOT do background checks.
ALL sites have scammers, male & female from every country.

I you narrow your search/filters by age, area etc.. you will notice patterns of users/ profiles & be able to detect much more quickly who is a scammer & who is not.
Example: You are 57 if a woman under 50yr old & is 100 miles or more away .... & is paying attention to you... she is probably a scammer.

Be realistic & report ALL suspicious users to Administration.

I have the same problem and even though I reported them it still happens

thread number 4,819 about scammers... ok, they are out there, we all know that... there is no way the admins can stop it, we all know this too... so why don't you people that are whining about them just ignore them and have fun with the ones you know are not? really not that hard...

We do screen profiles, but we can't screen them all. Right now, a new system is going into place, to help us catch them much faster. This is work in progress, and will be released very soon.

Until then, please continue to report suspected scammers.

well at least on the 18 + ones i have tried : )

i guess when they sit there for eight hours a day making up profiles, it's not exactly easy to stop... i'm sure whatever they're doing to slow it will do that...

if i knew anything about IT, i would suggest something that can detect patterns from ISP's / servers that these people are using to get online with mingle use...or maybe something that shows how many profiles they have with 1 device...if they(scammers) have to use a bunch of devices instead of one, it could slow them down some...

That's not true in all cases. I travel often and prior to my travels I like to make friends in the new country or city I'm visiting so that person can lead me to great places to dine, shop, hang out, etc. Everyone isn't a scammer.

well, thats for the site to decide... they can tell, although hard, who's following a scammer known traces... seems that alone would be more beneficial than worrying about blocking "innocents" that follow the same patterns...
