I realized this thread may get deleted or locked.. But I hope not.

I'm just so feed up & agitated right now.
I'm tempted to remove my profile pic again & the little information I have on my profile.

Because... I was HAPPIER without it.

Now.. I feel harassed all over again, by scammers with their own profiling ... of what they THINK a woman or a woman over 50 wants to hear. And they TARGET by their ideas.

I'm trying NOT to go into too much detail... because the last thing I want is to TEACH them ANYTHING !

Are they watching American reruns from the 1950' s or what?

I know that we all encounter them here or any site. But at this point I think it is the same few guys , messaging me over & over & over..!!!
It is the SAME damn script !!

Ahhh the old "Ill blow ya for blow money" scam....a classic.

no one is required to OPEN or READ an email just because they have received one....block/report to admin any problems you have with other members...they will handle it from there........viola....problem solved

I think just about everyone has had scammers at one time or another, on this and other sites. The best thing to do is not to let them get to you, just delete them without opening their messages.

I'm 70 and all I get are 20-40year old "women" contacting me and I ask myself.. what do these so called "beautiful" women want with a guy my age.. I guess it's money. They usually only have one photo which is a give away.

Anyway, I hope you look on the bright side as there isn't much you can do about them except delete your profile.. then they win to a degree.

How have you gotten so many scammers? You haven't been here that long. I have had no scammers and I think I have a fair amount of contacts. I feel lucky then.

Agreed , if the profile looks suspicious, I don't read it. But believe me, I report 4- 9 guys a day.
But they still get thru or get a new profile. If I don't dump/ block,then 2 weeks later it is the same guy, with the same form letter. Who has sent so many he forgot.

Very rarely do I even give them the chance or time to ask to money.
Because I feel too insulted, that they think their **** will work.

I've been here, for seven glorious years.

Fortunately, I've only had to deal with three scammers in that time.

It is my second profile. And they make assumptions... Sexist ones.

I think because your a young lady you may not get targeted, they seem to go for older women and men.

I also read one of your posts where you said you never went to any school reunions because you never had any friends. I've never really had any friends either because of my upbringing, (was put into an institution.. boys home) after my parents separated and divorced in the 1950's.

Hope you've gain good friends now.

Yep.. they hope or assume we we feel flattered.
But like in my original post, I'm tempted to remove my photo & little info on my profile... again.
The difference is dramatic. And most of my messages are people I already talk to, so I don't log in cringing.

SassyEuro2 I hope you don't think I am being negative to you. I'm not. I don't like it when people are scammed. I try to figure why people are scammed and why some are targeted.

I have also been here 7 years gawd that sounds horrible... and I have had 1 scammer in all that time.. HE was so much fun to play with...
I am sorry you get these and I have to agree why open them.. Of if you do open because unless they are paid members they never know if you opened or not.
Report them like you are doing.

I was never scammed.. I wouldn't even lend people money
But scammers profile people & make assumptions. Like other criminals.
Then I end up thinking like a cop & profile them.
I get the impression they assume or hope I feel ' desperate'.
So I report & block.... unless really ****** off. Then I shock them. Once in awhile they actually apologize.
But of course, I still report & block.

My first week here, I made a thread in the 'Help' forum asking, how many dumps/ blocks can I have.? I was afraid I would run out & have to rotate them. On some sites, dumps/ blocks are limited.

Is everyone assuming that by the profile alone, ALL scammers can be spotted ? Some times I'm not sure until the 3rd message. And I have a 50-100 mile radius as my filter. So I'm not available to all of Mingle2 .

No I am not.. Actually I do answer each one of my emails in my inbox...
I think for me I think as soon as they ask where Alaska is and I tell them. .They run ... Could be the reason.. I just haven't gotten but 1 and I knew it right from the get go and I played with him

Any time you receive this type of mail please Report it to Admin. In order to report the e-mail look at the bottom right corner and you will see report this user. Please take time to follow the steps to report the member. Admin will take time to look into the e-mails and if in fact they are crossing the site rules Admin will deal with them according to our rules. Members are not allowed to harass others even in e-mail.

So please report and let Admin deal with them. Also as others have said block them they will not know they have been blocked they will just think you are not opening their e-mails.
