Actually if I am totally honest here I think it does surprise a lot of people that I do have such a deep drawl...I am way up here in the north...

I have had the opportunity to speak with a couple of "Minglers" and have been pleasantly surprised by their voices.I think we get an idea in our heads that this is what they should sound like, because they are male/female and they are from this part of the country or world. Honestly I don't understand why you would stop talking to them because you perceived them as something that was in your mind. They are who they are, and their voice is part of that, and you liked this person enough to call them before you heard their voice, so why should that change after speaking to them, they are the same person that you liked enough to call.

This is true....I wasn't expecting that drawl like I also have...which comes out a lot more when I drink (and thankfully only one person on here has heard that deep Southern drawl, lol).

.. but yes I've had this happen a few times.... things are going well.. and then I hear their voice...... something in me goes..... screech...... but then again me being me..lol.. depends on how hot they are I guess.... I mean if she's super hot..... but she sounds like a dude...hmm.. time to insert the ear plugs and... just say yes !!.I totally agree with you a lot....

I've had a chance to shoot the breeze with Rains a time or two. She'd even mentioned, before-hand, that she had a Louisiana drawl. I'd like to say I was prepared for it. Nope. I wasn't.

Despite having had a very good friend from LA, it was pretty surprising (pleasantly so) to expect a 'tamed' drawl from someone now livin' in the almost Great White North to have all the inflections and 'r' sounds that end in 'uh' sounds - think Brothuh, Mothuh, etc. - in my ear again.

It's cool to get surprises.
