nothing wrong with smacking your kids to discipline them, my only point is that shes being praised for doing it because theres a riot going on. if there wasnt a riot going on people would want her thrown in jail.

If you want someone to listen to you, you don't use desperation tactics and burn down homes and neighborhoods. Yes, I hear you. They are angry that their lives stink and the system seems to be against them. But their tactics were horrible and counter productive, I hope you will agree. There are better ways of demanding a captive audience than looting and burning. you use the word seems. but they are dying at the hands of the police. so nobody is right everyone involved also the police that killed that boy and any officer involved are wrong, hence the violence on both sides. But you are assuming before the facts are in. Succumbing to the group mentality yourself. As long as this is the case there is no point in a further effort to help or understand you..... and that is another point others are trying to impress upon you im not assuming, im saying these people are dying by the hands that are supposed to be looking out for them. So you think violence against the victims is the answer to the problem? Isn't that what supposedly caused this in the first place? But it's ok if your own people rob and burn you out, just not the police. I keep trying to tell you your thinking is flawed! There are no actions against the police here! Only looting and burning of the community already suffering from a loss. They are trying to blame the police for causing this, but it is not the police doing the greater harm to their community. It is they themselves!

I know the mother was most likely scared for her son. I have no idea what I would do in that situation. I have these views because well I don't want to turn into my mom. but living with a child with Asperger's, I have had to learn to be patient I cant just jump to conclusions or see things in black and white anymore. I also know people of colour have had a really hard time and changes need to happen because history has a way of repeating itself. peace on this has to come sometime.

the civil war started because of slavery and rights as well as the economic implications of slavery. ( ie slavery was big money and they didn't want to let it go). you should have been taught this, this is part of American history.

I urge you to do a search. Type in these words: "real reason for the civil war". Read it and realize the truth. Freeing the slaves only factored into it one and a half years into the Civil War as a way for President Lincoln to punish the South for trying to usurp government control over all states. Bottom line: Freeing the slaves was not his first priority.
