Senator Rand Paul, R-Ky., slammed the Obama administration at a Foreign Relations Senate Committee meeting about being lectured about the Constitution by an administration that routinely ignores and subverts it.

""This is an administration who I believe has trampled the Constitution at many turns. This is an administration that seeks to legislate when it is not in their purview, whether it be immigration, whether it be health care, or whether it now be a war that's been going on for eight months without congressional authorization.""

Paul continued in his rant by remarking on signing Tom Cotton's open letter to Iran that said any agreement reached on Iran's nuclear program would have to be approved by Congress. He said that the letter was really a message to Obama and an administration that doesn't understand the role of Congress.

"The message was to President Obama, that we want you to obey the law, we want you to understand the separation of powers," Paul said. "The president says, 'Oh, the Congress won't do what I want, so I've got a pen and I've got my phone and I'm going to do what I want.' The letter was to you."

no ,Im saying the president didn't write letters to people outside the US expressing his intention to not work with congress

lol

the MANY is the government, which is CONGRESS and PRESIDENT,,,not congress and the Iranian government and the president

I don't sent a letter to my daughter by writing her friends,,

just saying, call it what it is,, don't pretend it was a letter to the president, that would have been very simple to accomplish,,,

Rand Paul in his office with his "constituency" over his left shoulder.

America needs leaders that will put America, first, second and third.

Rand Paul is not one of those leaders.

Yes, Paul proposed a very good bill to cut foreign aid in 2011, but the bill went nowhere. So that single attempt does not exonerate Paul from sticking to his purported position of no foreign aid in the future.

9 billion that COULD have gone to America. If Rand Paul was a leader instead of being a political hack who sold his own father down the river.

People who are willing to sell out their own father won't think twice about selling out their own country.

They're called "quislings". Aka "turncoats". Aka "5th column".

Traitors, by any other word.

i agree with RP on this, we give to much money to all countries... Israel is a great nation that can stand on it's own, and a great ally with us too...

that was written by a liberal troll, who wanted to try to turn the Jewish vote against RP... it clearly states that RP wanted to end ALL foreign aid, but he only emphasized Israel...

Israel is a great ally?

Thanks to our "great ally".....A bipartisan majority of House lawmakers have written a letter to President Obama backing up the letter 47 GOP senators controversially addressed to Iran on Monday with dire warnings about the impending nuke deal.

Some 250 members had signed the House letter by Friday afternoon, a clear majority of the chamber.

Its authors, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce, R-Calif., and the panel’s top Democrat, Eliot Engel of New York, are still gathering more signatures but will send the letter to Obama soon.

The growing schism between the pro-Israel members of Congress (which is most of them) and the White House is now on full display to the rest of the world, along with Israel's obvious subversion of that Congress.

Neither of these are good for America's foreign policy as other countries see a government clearly divided against itself and all because of meddling by Israel.
