Take me down from the ivory pedestal you have me on
I am but a simple gurl Average really in my own eyes Just a simple gurl Nothing special, just the ability to weave words Weave them into something real It doesn't make me something special Just a simple gurl The ivory pedestal is just far to fall from And fall I will as I always do I make mistakes Create a mess Sleep too late Eat too much Smoke like chimney Swear way too much Nothing about me to make a fuss Just a simple gurl You will soon see Average in your eyes I will be The words weave themselves from my pen Swirling and twisting in the wind Settling down on paper All on a whim So take me down from the ivory pedestal I do not belong there In this comfortable chair I will sit Weaving my words as I see fit Telling my tales of woe My tales of lust Tales of love won and lost Tales of my lifes twisted paths |

Very good poem |

I agree, I get nosebleeds on pedestals, and the defiance disorder comes out to play.
Great words Jenni. |

Beautiful Jenni your words and truth you share with us everyday are very meaningful to many of us.And yes we all fall and make mistakes..but if they put you on that pedestal stand proud and if you slip and fall get back up there and be the beautiful soul that you are...HUGS Pam
