Yes I understand. The answer is still no. Think about it this way. Millions of people everywhere have camcorders and microphones, have you ever heard any of them talking on your radio or seen them on your tv? No. Why? The FCC. The FAA has a lot to do with this too. If someone could broadcast a signal strong enough they could be mistaken for ground control. We typically don't like it when planes drop out of the sky or run into buildings. There are also emergency weather and information radio broadcasts. They have to be everywhere so they can't afford to broadcast with as much power as the more popular radio stations. They don't allow citizens or businesses to have equipment more powerful than that without licensing. This is where your brainwashing comes in. You are only close enough to local radio stations, their dj, their rotation. This was true of tv until the 70s and early 80s when satellites and cable companies gave us many more choices and clearer pictures. If you dont like local news, change the channel. Still it would take someone capable of wiring a large city's traffic lights to be able to do what you're suggesting and that would only be in a local area. There are different cable companies and satellites that service different areas. Dallas and Houston for example are both in Texas but one may have Cox and the other Time Warner. It all depends on who has the contract to service the area. Supposedly it's so we don't have a monopoly but both companies don't operate in the same area. It all has to do with $ and lots of it going from our pockets to theirs. Cable companies don't actually broadcast either. All they do is provide you a one time connection to all of the networks that make and broadcast their shows. ahhhh I see, makes sense. can you elaborate more on "the dark web" and "tor" as I really have never heard of them before. Bitcoin also is the currency on the darkweb Tomato! I just did some reading on it, seems pretty frickin cool cept for the child porn stuff haha. I am pretty interested in that tor thing also, I hate how basically everything you do on the internet is tracked and recorded. seems pretty cool that you can use tor to be a little more anonymous... back to the original topic though, kinda sux ya cant wipe out tv, I feel like that's the only hope for America. people are way too distracted nowadays by the BS on tv. I recently lost interest in sports and I have loved sports since I was a kid. I look at it now as just another distraction and you have NFL players promoting obamacare, that's where I drew the line.

Tomato, there is a point where what you are discussing could be construed as terrorism. Taking out salelite comm's would be in that realm.

Tomato, there is a point where what you are discussing could be construed as terrorism. Taking out salelite comm's would be in that realm. im not saying I would ever do it, I don't really know anything about computers beyond web browsing and email. I am not a terrorist, and would never commit any terrorist acts. im just simply expressing my opinion that americans are too brainwashed because of television. I was questioning if it would theoretically be possible to do. besides just for talking on this forum were probably all being watched... now a days the fbi considers anyone who doesn't have a facebook account to be a terrorist. so im sure anyone who types "Obama" on the web is probably being looked at. like I said I am not a terrorist and have no ties to anyone or group that is associated with terrorism. I am simply excersising my right of free speech. americans are dumb sheep and our governments are the wolves. that's my opinion.

as I understand it, I am no expert either, is that it is a group of hackers that are intent with exposing illegal activities of our governments. There is an open case of a girl burned alive, Jessica Chambers, in rural Mississippi. When an arrest wasnt made quick enough, a group of anonymous hackers took to Twitter to "solve" the case......but they basically were just throwing any and all crap against the wall and hoping something wld stick. Sometimes I wonder if they were just some pimply faced kid typng away in their mom's basement.....

That's nice, I don't think this thread is any of these things: Politics, Current News & Events. well considering a lot of the videos I have seen from anonymous have to do with government, I would consider that to fall under politics and current events.
