My friend asked me to post on here a question she would love to know the answer to. She asked, Why do really ugly men even think they have a chance with a beautiful woman? She always says, you must be mental to even think you stood a chance. Personally I find this cruel. But I told her I would ask, so here goes. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS NOT MY QUESTION, ITS A FRIENDS Debbie: I have read all the replies you received to your question so far. What appears to be missing in most is a sense of empathy and sadness that your cousin has been taught this rather perverted view of men and relationships. I am truly sorry that she has never been shown a real way of building a loving and trusting relationship is more than just a product of physical appearance. I will not raise my child to buy into this superficial behavior. I wish her parents had done more. She's got no empathy for anyone, she's to busy looking in the mirror. I think it's disgusting she makes her kids eat crappy food so she can buy herself designer clothes and bags. And I feel for her kids, one of them is already starting to copy her, talking to people with her head in the mirror. I've tried very hard in the past to help her with the kids, but i had to give up in the end, it made me so Ill. It's a shame because their dad moved away, so they have little contact. I think it worse then discussing..as a parent, you are on the bottom of the "totem pole" your family comes 1st... then you.. you do without at times so your family doesn't have to.. that is the unwritten rule. clearly your friend doesn't understand this basic parenting responsibility... not everyone should be a parent

It's funny but I believe I am ugly but I am also extremely rich and in an earlier post I saw you write about your friend wanting to buy LV bags and put food on the table for her kids. Well I can guarantee you I could pull your friend being as ugly as I am simply by using my wallet and flying her to the worlds biggest LV showroom in Shanghai , Xintandie district and buy her all the bags she wants. If I am correct (which I know I am) then your friend should bite her lips and keep quite. What do you think?

Now that's shocking! When I brought my oldest son up myself, I would sacrifice myself having things, so my boy never went without. I didn't own my own business back then and money was tight at times. My kids come first in everything and they always will!!

Most common is the under estimation of one's physical & cognitive assets & qualities so especially common with the cliche-" female insecurity" in terms of their own bodies/physical appearance. The field of cosmetic surgery is a lucrative & thriving business because of this fact. Women[ even, young teenagers], with absolutely perfect breasts & bodies, obtaining breast augmentation, bloated,pouting parodies of-Angelina Jolie's lips- ect.-Gross! Frankly, I find your friend's self-image to be refreshing although a tad, narcissistic, but,totally understandable in terms of her age & as a product of the social values that surround us[facebook & the like, ect]. The definition of "Beauty" or "Good Looking" is a totally subjective awareness in that the individual who is described as "Unattractive" may be, my own or your- Eye Candy;}

Money carries people away into a fairytale, inspiration carries people away into a fairytale, charisma carries people away into a fairytale. People want to give-in to their desires, they want to be safe, they want to live a dream and they long to be lazy. (to name a few) Every choice surely contains a compromise, but it is not all about the looks all the time. We're all seeking a life we can enjoy more than the one we currently have.

I connect ugliness in men with how they treat other women in their life. I think if they're rude and arrogant no matter what they look like it's a turn off.

Because beauty is only skin deep and when you get past all the physical looks it really comes down to who is compatible, do they treat you with respect, are they loyal to you.Debbie it sounds like your friend considers herself good looking and is maybe(I am guessing) a little hung up on herself.Looks fade in time and personality and who you are is what represents you as a person.If you look around there are a lot of attractive people who are divorced and it comes down to someone else wanted to end their relationship regardless of how good looking they where.

I don't have much contact anymore, and you are right, thankyou

for men confidence and achievment is the goal of life. If I am ugly i will have achieved so much in life, I will be a strong man, and I will consider myself deserving there is no shame in it.. and ladies do look for confidence..
