After a few months of being a member, I decided to see what the forums was about and threw myself in it...like jumping into the deep end of the pool...(hard to miss, I know...   )
I was in a relatively rough patch that time...kinda like moving into a new town, for reasons that one moves to a new town... Davidben gave me quite an initiation rite... 
Then it was like entering a new high school ....looking for where and with whom to fit in...  
So... A mere couple of months have passed since the first post....I'd like to thank everyone who were really nice to me that time...  And those who were less nice made the experience even more interesting and eye opening... and say that I appreciate the friendship, the acquaintanceship and whatever else in between... And I must say... I'm still learning a lot ...
So I'm wondering...do you remember the first time you stepped in the forums...? Hello Pansy 
Yes, I still remember when I first joined, but I dont know who first welcomed me or was I welcomed...lol 
At first, I felt I was invisible and because of that I just browse some topics, until I decided to join the game threads...and the rest is history  . I made friends along the way and encountered many scammer sh%ts...but all in all I love it here

hahahahahahahahahahahahah!! For months when I first joined M2, all I did was reply to 'Rate My Profile's because I did not know anybody and was afraid to post. I mean there were all these threads that had been going on for months, sometimes years. What if I (gulp) repeated something already said?? Ruthie was the first person to say hi to me, I recall it still. I learned to cut out the $100 words and use small ones :-) (People felt compelled to explain what I said hahaha) Then a day comes when you realize...you are a part of the fabric itself. Be kind to newbs!! Sometimes it seems hard to resist...

I remember I felt like a Turkey listening to Christmas Carols, I was that nervous, although I can't remember what I wrote. I do remember the first message I got, it was off some girl who looked like a supermodel and I thought Hmmmm, this is a bit of alright this site
Then the next message informed me that her mum had just died, her house had burnt down, her father needed hospital treatment and so forth. But hey, she now has a new house, her father is out of hospital and doing well, although I couldn't do much for her mum

Laughing I was blonde then and I wore my shades for ages before I let anyone see my face . I have never been shy about saying what's in my mind or standing up for what I believe . Some heated debates and several vacations in jail ., I am still learning ... Laughing .. But it is all fun. Lovely to have you in the forums miss pansy .. You are very talented :

Hi Pansy... good thread!
I came to Mingles because of the forum, first & foremost! I had wanted to connect with a fellow Taoist, but he is no longer active, so, I never did manage to connect with him. But that got me hooked on the forums....it was full of humor & good for my daily dose of laughs. My initial posts were like edited many times before I even dare to punch the 'post reply' button. But I have learn to trust that now I can just put in my thoughts as it comes into my mind right into the post. More like 'from the heart'! I did get some not too good replies initially, but I have also learn to be 'thick skinned' and 'turn the other cheek', and retort (which I was never good at! but I am learning). The plus point of the forums.....this is what Mikey pointed out to me... forum posters are mostly genuine people, not scammers, but could be players though.... join the forums and keep safe! And the best part is getting to know you gals/guys..... the banter, the fun, the name calling, the jibes, the friendship, the caring ... the Mingle Family! |

I came to Mingles because of the forum, first & foremost! I had wanted to connect with a fellow Taoist, but he is no longer active, so, I never did manage to connect with him. But that got me hooked on the forums....it was full of humor & good for my daily dose of laughs. My initial posts were like edited many times before I even dare to punch the 'post reply' button. But I have learn to trust that now I can just put in my thoughts as it comes into my mind right into the post. More like 'from the heart'! Kinda...haha...found them when I was bored with fending of scammers and one word emails.....I discovered the fun of the forums and friendship..... thanks to the advice of one friend here I also discovered the power associated with having your own thread.....and look where that lead me..hahaha...
