the reason behind the.. posting of this topic for me.. was this..
.. I was running an errand this weekend.. and the girl.. behind the cash register... was either very rude . by nature are just having a bad day..
.. when I tried to inform her that the price she had punch .. in was incorrect.... she snapped at me....

.. insisting that I was wrong... and the price she had was absolutely the right price.....
.. well being me..lol.... I knew she was misinformed.... I politely tried to inform her of this... which seemed to push her over the deep end...lol..
.... I realized there was no sense..
in trying to. reason with her....
.. so I finished my purchase..
went to customer service.... left my cart with them.... walked over to the aisle in the store..... we're in big bold numbers... the sale price was over my product in question... took a picture with my smartphone..... marched back up to the cashier.. the one who .absolutely knew she was right.. so rudely.... shoved my phone in front of her face and said...... yes I suppose you were correct.... and I must be absolutely wrong.....yes....

i think you could've complained to the manager

Yes a 2" ball bearing in a sock!Don't use a rock as it would be considered a weapon in conjunction with.
But the charges would likely be stayed and you would be certifiable as you would have to be forced to use the ol' "pet rock" defence.

The sock acts as a protective sheath for a mechanical component. (The ball bearing )
If the cop says "why do you have the ball bearing in the sock" I say "I don't know about you but I don't like rusty balls"! It could get interesting with a female, especially if she reads you the "Miranda rights"
"Anything you say and do,can and will be held against you".This is when I come in with the ol'show stoper and reply with "B{}{}BS"!

To answer the OP....I coward down so "noboby" gets murdered whoa

There is always a Block or Delete button haha Nah usually I just walk away but don't come at me when I do because there is no telling what I may say or do. That's me.

.. how do you react ,when somebody is rude to you..?

.. do you exchange insults with them.?

.. or perhaps you just walk away.!

.. do you bite your tongue, and say nothing... then later on 'regret that you did not tear them a new one.....

... do you . dwell on this person's rudeness.. it now becomes a topic of your conversations....lol...

.. perhaps you wait for them out in the parking lot..lol...

.. perhaps you just feel sorry for them..hmm...

.... do you hold your tongue..slaphead
.. or tear them a new one.rant

My sarcasm comes out and I usually end up making the rude person feel like they're about an inch tall....

If anyone tells you that a certain person speaks ill of you, do not be angry or upset about what is said of you, but answer: "He was evidently ignorant of my other faults; else he certainly would not have mentioned these alone." :-) [Epictetus]

Why have a battle of wits with an unarmed person?

Why "Rip them a new one"... Don't bring yourself down to their level. Don't waste your time stewing over it... Take that time and energy and use it to do good for someone or even yourself. You will feel much better for it.

Why not give them a taste of their own medicine back? Maybe make them realise that although they dish it out, they don't like it back. Then they might be a little less ruder next time to other people.

I guess it depends on the day. I usually just ignore them.

When I am driving, it really bothers me because I can't ignore them.

When I am in the grocery store I find it rude when people will block an aisle to have a conversation especially when the store is crowded. I will usually say "excuse me" and they will move.

Rude people are everywhere even in the mirror from time to time. The rudeness i experience is online, like im chatting with someone and they dont respond maybe for 15 minutes or not at all then the next day they hit u up to chat like every thing is okay.Well i match wits alright and blow them out of the water with love and class.

I figure it's a bad moment and shrug it off ... unless it is prolonged rudeness.

then, I tie their shoelaces together while they're not looking...heh heh heh

One day I was in Dunkin Donuts. An older woman kept screaming at the clerk, "where are the bananas, you had them the other day." I was impressed with the young clerk's composer. She must have had to explain four times that they don't have bananas there anymore. I complimented the clerk on this and we had a laugh about it!

I think this is a good way to deal with situations like that. Not starting a blazing argument but standing your ground nonetheless. Think it takes more baws to do what you did than to start screaming and shouting.
Just wondering; did you get your money back or a freebie box of Kleenex?
