I personally like to date outside my ethnicity because I enjoy learning the different customs, beliefs from me , and like to meet people from different walks of life and I feel like their is more options available. In the other hand I also know that not everybody feels the same way, some people only date within their ethnicity or racial group.I wonder what is your perspective on this topic?

I have dated within the same race and with other races before getting married..... and it makes no difference what race it is! Once the feelings and love sets in, everything else does not matter. And you'll be surprised at the amount of sacrifices you have to make to contend with society's opinion, and that you may be willing to go thru it even convert to their religion. One of my sibs married outside the race, and my parents were really against it, and it did turn out badly and they divorced.

I bowed to the family's expectations and married within the race....... 30 years on now and we are separated!! So, it matters not.........it all boils down to whether you love each other enough.

Ooh....I might date an 'alien' if he were good looking enough! laugh laugh laugh

Race shouldn't matter, compatible culture , values, goals , and ideals matter more

I'm reading someone should go visit the hairdresser, get a wash, cut, perm and die job-maybe. He need to get cleaned up a little and make sure he smells nice.

I haven't date outside my ethnicity yet, but personally it does not make any differences. Where I grew up there was only caucasian. Maybe, may make life easier when one get older, because you care less what people think about your partner.

I agree with you, I also like to meet new people and cultures. Women are beautiful in all shapes and sizes and nationality's, and yes I also have dated outside my nationality.I don't like to say race because in my eyes we are all the same race.

I have date inter-racially. I think it adds a different dimension to a relationship and as we all know, relationships can turn boring after only a short period of time. So, yeah. I have an will again, I'm sure if I met the right person.

I used to think it was better do date within one's own culture, since the commonalities would be a basis for being able to understand traditions and nuances especially in terms of dealing with family and obligations. But after some time and observation on the quality of relationships people have, my opinion is that having a different ethnicity doesn't matter, per se. Though, the values held important by each culture/religion/ethnicity does matter a lot, especially in the long haul. Dating someone very different can allow us to have a broader perspective on how we think and can be quite exciting sometimes. But when it comes to settling down and all, we each just have to learn to understand, adjust and sacrifice for the ones we love, regardless the ethnicity...

Personally I dont think about weather or not women i like come from the same ethnic background... I firstly look to see if i like how they look and then i try to get to know them.....and if we are both happy to continue then the journey begins.

happy surprise ^^^^

first time for me as well.
dating isn't about culture it's about compatibility, sharing, valuing each other. learning from each other.
wanting that person in your life.
when you enjoy each other's company, that's what matters.
and that's what we've found

I think the question was made under the context of making a conscious decision whether to pursue or not. But I like your simplified version of it. bigsmile

If they are looking to marry and have different religious beliefs their families can be very opposed to a future marriage, differences in ethnicity and culture are more easily accepted than differences in religion in my opinion. If they are both religious or have other beliefs and these are different from each other, are they prepared to take part in a religious service not of their own faith or belief, such as the marriage ceremony. Would they be prepared to convert to their partners faith or belief and bring their children up accordingly. It all depends on the two people involved but they need to be honest with themselves first and certainly before entering in to a marriage, this is just my opinion.

Welcome to mingle2 and good luck in your search.
