Hi MelMaxx,

Depending on the rest of the profile you can tell a lot about the poster from their use of grammar & punctuation. Young "guys" use the term girls b/c that's what they are used to just coming out of high school/college. Older men (35+) use it b/c it may be part of their social upbringing or they are looking for marriage & want to start a family so they need a younger "girl" for that. Young males in general use a lot of "text speak" & poor punctuation b/c they are typing from their phones.

A lot of misspellings & use of "am" instead of I am & "will like to" instead of would as well as incorrect tenses indicates a scammer from another country who knows only about the same amount of written English as a 2nd grader here in the US.

PS: good luck on the site LOL!

I know this more than likely has been talked about before, but WHY do men say they are looking for that special "girl"?
It's my understanding, from guys posts and profiles, that a lot of women state in their profiles to know the difference between their, there and they're. I DO get that however, I am becoming more and more aggravated with the term "girl".
Also, while I am fully on my way to upsetting some, do you want 1 woman or several women?
Since you COULD read what you typed before posting, please do. I don't expect grammatical genius, just simply PLEASE THINK AND READ before posting.

Well, I'd rather say
"Want some candy little girl?"
rather than
"Would you like an after dinner mint madam?"

But really, my favorite word is dudette. :)

A lot of misspellings & use of "am" instead of I am & "will like to" instead of would as well as incorrect tenses indicates a scammer from another country who knows only about the same amount of written English as a 2nd grader here in the US.

Personally I feel that one needs to consider that some of us come from countries whereby English is not our first language. For example, I'm currently working in Riyadh where we often have to get a translator because I don't speak Arabic and they don't speak good English. So you can imagine how poor their writing skills will be in English. Another scenario; I'm originally from South Africa where we have 11 official languages and yet again, English is not a first language, nor a second, nor a 3rd at times for the majority of the population.

So, yes, someone from another country may only know the same amount of written English as a 2nd grader there in the US and that does not necessarily make them a scammer.

Second point; people have gotten so lazy to write out full words due to "text-lingo"...for me personally I don't want to have to waste time figuring out what 'b/c' stands for when one could just write out the word 'because'...
