Topic: taboo subjects on a first date? | |
---|---|
My dad told me when I was about 13 that when on a first date I should make the girl really mad and see what happens. If I figured I could live with the way she reacted then there was a chance of it working out.
Good thing I rarely take anyone's advice on anything! |

lol actually I can understand his thinking ..........best to know up front what and how they get mad......

I get the feeling that if I did that on a first date, there would be little chance of a second date. Maybe that was his plan after all.

well maybe not on a frist day.........but then again as I look at my marriage.........hmmmmmm he used to say he never got mad.........uhhhhhhhhhhhh I beg to differ!!! and I sure wish I seen it before the wedding!!!

I am just going to throw this out there. I have been on a couple of dates where the 2 subjects I prefer not to talk about have been brought up. Politics and Religion as long as your date is an open minded , there is no taboo in discussing , otherwise each topic can be a taboo if they weren't familiar with or if it was a little bit out of box |

I went out on a date and the guy completely broke down because "I have been mislead"... I walked out!
It's not cool to force your beliefs onto others! |
that's why you should talk about anything you have in mind in the first date , so u can know if he deserves you as you are ... or not

What's with all the ancient threads being resurrected?

What's with all the ancient threads being resurrected? OMG You're right...... |
The current ones are becoming too boring, that's why, I guess.???????
so many current threads are repeated in a short period of time , you can find some repeated ones in the same page !!
instead of starting a new topic which was discussed before , i try to find something similar to "revive" |

There is no taboo questions on a first date. I ask whatever I feel like asking that is important to me. It is best not to aviod it, bring it out on the first date. Sometimes it lets me know if I want a second date. Imo

I get offended when someone talks to me about religion esp if they tell me my beliefs are wrong. Politics...I don't talk about all at!! So yes I think those are better to be left out on a first date...I am sure there are lots of other things to talk about. If someone talked to me about sex on the first date...I would just get up and walk away. Obviously, that person is not my type at all. I will give someone a hug on a first date BUT never a kiss. Yep; what she said. |

would "so,where do you want to be buried?" be taboo?

I am just going to throw this out there. I have been on a couple of dates where the 2 subjects I prefer not to talk about have been brought up. Politics and Religion, am I wrong in thinking that those 2 subjects are better left to a date other than a first date? I really do not have a problem with the subjects in general but it has been my experience that everyone has an opinion on the subjects and no 2 opinions are usually the same. Needless to say the dates ended ubruptly when I gave a very generalized opinion on religion, not so much an opinion but just answering questions. Hey |
