So all you people got your Christmas deco, tree and lights up and running?

Over here many ppl, esp with young children, wait till after Dec 5th, which is St Nicholas, the evening that kids get all their pressies. So we don't do the Christmas pressie stuff like you do.

As I don't have young kids anymore and was in the mood for Christmas thingies, I just got the tree and deco from the attic.
Tree is standing, coloured lights in it. Enjoying a coffee break now.. will finish it off after that :)

Maybe I'll make a nice wreath this year, I'm actually really in the mood to be creative.

..ok.. usually ..when I was still in a relationship.. we would have the tree and house decorated by now...
. but seeing how it's really just.. the boys and myself..and milo.. I'm going to do it this weekend... I would say we! are going to do it this weekend...
but I'm pretty sure the boys are going to say...awww..dad you do it will just ,break something... or.. I'm busy! on my game dude... later you old fart.... but that's okay... I know once it's up.. all the ornaments. hung and the lights turned on... they will enjoy.it.... myself.. I'm procrastinating just a little bit... you see all the ornaments.. are very special.. one for every year.. my ex and I were together.... there is over 20, of them..
. they tend to make up the bulk, of the decorations on the tree.. so instead of being a happy occasion decorating...
.. It is going to be a bitter reminder...
.hmm... but I will bite my lip and hold back my tears... put on a happy Christmas smile.....ohhh.... just thinking about it now... is making me sad... perhaps I will just climb into a bottle... smash all of the decorations...
. go buy new ones and start over....

Yes, some decorations hold memories, but I haven't got one for each year, thank god for that. I wouldn't use those, I'd keep them, for memories sake, like you keep your wedding pictures but never ever look at them again, lol.

Why not get some new ones in? Maybe your eldest isn't interested, but the youngest could still enjoy going shopping with dad for new Christmas thingies? Make new memories with your boys, memories that taste sweet, not bittersweet.
Some stuff never gets sweet anymore .. Like wedding pics. I've been divorced for some 13 years .. but looking at my wedding pics (wedding was in 1990) is still .. erm .. well, not a pleasant thing to do. I would never chuck them of course, but still.. all the hopes, dreams wishes you had back then that obviously only partially came true, or not at all.
Maybe it's the same with things like your Christmas decos ..

Anyway, my tree's done, little Angels, roses, and coloured lights :) I want to do some more thingies, but need food and shopping first.. tomorrow's another day :)

I did a white tree this year, with red decorations.(I bought new thingies this year)but am digging out some old ones to add to it this weekend,and decorate the porch too, hopefully.. next......I will do a selfie before Christmas is over,Lords will.
