With the holidays upon us, I have heard from several peeps (men and women) that singles don't like to search very hard for a date or significant other because of the sometimes awkward idea of gift giving. I am curious to know ya'lls thoughts on this.

holiday season are not..
I'm the gift that keeps giving all year round... .. think energizer bunny.. I just keep going and going and going.. and then giving..lol

Don't know that it's so much about the "gift giving" at the holidays as it is the increased time with family members and family traditions.


Subjecting someone unfamiliar with my family and our ways and who is unfamiliar TO my family and our ways (and having to do the same in return for that other person) when we're just getting to know each other seems like it falls more towards the "setting ourselves up for failure" than at any other time of the year.

I am not sure lol now if its just causally dating them ...I would not get them anything or just wait to see what they do ... who's coming to dinner or not... if you are going to dinner with each others family... then that is a serious relationship or you both just spending it together ...then I might get them something ... I guess you could think of it like this to would you give a present to a FWB ... still not sure ... I say do what feels nature to you... only way your going to tell ...

I find giving money much more personal than buying a gift.

Weeellll,while this may seem somewhat"shallow",it kinda even things a bit,here's what's happening,alot of chicks get with guys just to get gifts ECT during Xmas and valentines ECT,SOOO, defensive strategy,some guys don't hardly pick um up during that time,while some guys dump them close to that time,sometimes the innocent suffers guilty!

I'm not much for giving gifts, not even to people I've know my entire life, so why would I want to change that.

So what you're saying is that the holiday season is the best hunting season

I try not to date new people during the holidays...It seems like your more likely to rush things and misread your emotions because it's hard to be alone during them...

I think it is a bad time to start a relationship simply because the hollidays make you more desparte to find someone just cause you don't want to be alone and for me iam not taking any chances of starti g up with someone like this, the timing is just not right
