Just thought I'd see how many people are pagans on here. Don't care what kind or flavor, just seeing who's there. If it is a pagan holiday, and I can take the day off with pay if I am a pagan, then I am a pagan. |

I'm more on the parallel with Djinn.

I'm pagan too, or more like a heathen and a Witch, just walking my own paths of nature...and it's all good.

I'm here. This is about the history for me. Most Christian holidays are based around Pagan traditions. From the Greeks (mistletoe) to the Vikings (Yol), the Gods still live through Christian eyes to this day. From Mars, to Thor... our ancestors lived through the Pagan Gods at some point. Sometimes it's as though I missed my time by a few thousand years. I relate more to the Norse Gods. My ancestors immigrated to North America in a fishing vessel from Norway. My great great great grandmother was one of the first to settle in Colorado. Of course near the mountains, where my grandmother says she feels at home the most. So do I.
Off topic, but I cannot imagine the knowledge lost due to Christianity (for example, not bashing just christian faith). Odin's ideology was based around sacrificing his eye for knowledge. He hung from a tree, wounded wounded by a spear, for wisdom. Paganism is (usually) based around the cosmos (science). Vikings sailed the east coast of North America 500 years before Columbus. Read that there may be evidence of a Viking presence as far south as South America. Don't you think Native American's would have annihilated Columbus if the first impressions of white people was that they're just mindless Viking pillagers? Think about it. Vikings traded with the Natives for some time before the Viking Age officially "ended". Probably continued afterwards. That was a diverse, welcoming, honorable culture. Every single group of people throughout history has had awful things like slavery, rape, pillaging etc. Ohhhhh how I wish the Norse kept written records. Not just these (mostly) Christian accounts. I would love to be in the mind of people like Bjorn Ironside, or Erik the Red. Point is...Be proud of who you are. Never hide it. I'm here. Thursday is my Sunday and I thank you all who read this. No matter who you are, or what your religion is. |

Pagan requires adherence to religion. Religion is based on conformity. Since I am not interested in conforming to any religion NOT That’s actually pretty dope man I am not one to conform myself but I don’t see my way of life as conforming in any way possible. But i do understand your point. |
