Topic: message received but I can't see them

I am having some difficulties with one of my mingle friends that has restrictions on his profile. Yet we used to be able to mail but it seems not anymore....although it says xx messaged you I've got nothing in my inbox... (Just found my friend back on skype)and apparently he received my mails..but I'm not receiving his replies.

Sure, thanks... but it happened with others too....just in this case we could both talk about the bug.For the other ones I'm getting a notification of a mail and then there is no mail.... So far I thought people deleted their messages... And the spam I'm getting just fine...lol

So...I quote F0X who puts my complicated phrasing much better : is it possible to have a notify about a new message in the inbox while there is nothing at all ? So...I don't know if I'm blind or what but there are some notification of messages of people I actually have replied to and don't mind communicating with...that I don't get.
