how do learn to trust people today when there are so many fake people out there just just like to lie
|

My advice would be to just talk to them, get to know them. Their true selves will come out eventually.

It is hard to trust people, especially when you have been lied to. I guess it is shame on them not on you.

good question
I guess you just talk with a person, try to listen to what your heart, and mind are telling you, and hope for the best. |

TRUST THEM WITH INFO THAT WILL NOT CAUSE YOU PAIN IF THEY BETRAY YOU.
TIME DOES REVEAL A TRUE PERSON VS A FAKE ONE |

At time I think it more our heads then anything else and being on the internet doesn't make it any easier knowing your not with that person. The key is not to listen to the negative thoughts that we imagine at times...
One thing I know fore sure. Everone is different so we can't base are trust because of our past. |

When you trust someone you are investing in them. When you lend money, you are investing in them. When you become intimate, you are investing in them. You should only invest in someone in relation to how well you know them. Would you lend money to someone you knew for a week? a month? a year?

i think it starts by trusting yourself

You just have to take a chance on people. Each case is different. Some will work, others won't. That's the chance you'll just have to take.

going into it with the attitude that they are fake and will lie is a for sure way to destroy any chance of something real.
each person deserves a clean slate, not to be compared to the past, or doubted because of other's actions. having said that, at the same time, you can't trust just anyone. you give a little to start and they have to earn the rest and keep it. remember.. actions speak louder than words. |

Exactly. It must be earned and you always have to leave yourself and out or you'll make a prison for yourself. Ask yourself this? Is your desire to trust someone else greater than your capacity to discover?

Trust is hindered by your own fears. Learn how to be confident in what you take in, and don't make haste into anything. Trust in your ability for patience, discernment, honesty, and never forget to live by example. Sometimes we too can become the things we dislike. If that doesn't make sense then try this. Trust until you have no reason to. After all, we are individuals.

you can never know who to trust for sure. always keep an eye on your own back. but remember you've got to take a leap of faith sometimes.

I am also dealing with a trust issue right now with a friend that I have made on this site. He seems like a great guy; however, I have been burned ALOT in the past and unfortunately that is carrying over into this relationship. We are just friends but what if it turns into something more? I need to learn to trust and not judge him on past experience. Some great people on this site have given me some great advice: take it slow, actions speak louder than words, and listen to your instincts.

Trust is a BIG thing. There are liars all around us, and they seem to strike when you are the most vunerable. It's hard to trust again after being burned. I would say...keep the wall up, but that's not good either. I wish you well....
