Does sex have anything to do with love? Or are they separate needs/emotions with dissimilar expectations?

Sex is a basic animal need that doesn't need love and just because you love someone doesn't mean you have to have sex with them. Some say sex makes a relationship stronger and others say it can destroy it. Also every animal on this planet has been observed using sex or a type or sexual harassment as a sign of dominance (Example: little dog humping your leg). So to sum up no to the first part and yes to the second.

No, they are exactly the same thing, and completely inseparable. That is why ALL mammals, including humans, only have sex when they feel love. This is also why prostitution - and its customers - exist. Furthermore, love means the same thing to every single human being and each and every human being expects the same thing from every other human, when they *fall* in love and/or *fall* in sex. This means every single person is 100% compatible with 100% of the world's population.
You ARE kidding with this question, right? |

Does sex have anything to do with love? Or are they separate needs/emotions with dissimilar expectations? For women it's often is the same thing. For men not per say. Men and women are wired differently when it comes to sex & love. Often women (start to) commit or get attached to a sex partner, men don't necessarily. Someone posted a Dr Phil quote on this issue the other day. And any decent relationship book or guru, will yet you the same thing. I think this is one of the biggest F ups women tend to make. For most of us it's difficult to just have sex and leave our emotions out of it. So if a woman wants to have sex for sex, she may have to constantly remind herself that it's just that and nothing more. Like finding, or creating, a switch we are not naturally equipped with. There's always exceptions of course, some adapt / learn easier than the others. I don't mean any gender bashing here. Simply that if experts say it works this way, well, guess that in general it's gotta be true. |

when I was a kid an really thought I loved this guy... I was scared to have sex even though i know he loved me and i loved him but it never happened ... and then he decided to get it from one of his co workers ... wasn't to hard to figure out when i went to visit him at work ...
so we broke off he went his way i did the same ... later in yrs he called an said would i meet him something important he had to ask me in person ... I agreed ... he told me he was about to marry this one girl and wanted to know if i would marry him said he had always loved me an would break his off if I said yes ... I said no ... very hard to let go of someone cheating on u in the first place or to even say i think i love someone else ... sometimes it is hard to tell lust after someone then knowing you love them ... generally there can be a attraction first and possibly love later on an sometimes not... relationship should come very easy but they seem to be difficult sometimes to ... and much harder I believe then the younger to know the different between lust and love in this y generation now... |

sex and love are seperate
love is the emotional value we place on something sex is the physiological interest in something I believe that the physiological is best when the emotional exists and as long as the emotional exists the physicological isnt necessary but may enhance or diminish the emotional but neither is required for the other to exist, or be enjoyed in their moment,,,, or I believe sex is best when love exists as long as love exists , sex isnt necessary, but may enhance or diminish the love but sex can be enjoyed in its moment without love, and love can be enjoyed in its moment without sex |

There's always exceptions of course, some adapt / learn easier than the others. I don't mean any gender bashing here. Simply that if experts say it works this way, well, guess that in general it's gotta be true. I think in addition to this. That people act on their primal instincts when it comes to sex. Instead of rationality For a man it is physically not a problem to have sex everytime he chooses to. Because the sperms in a man are always active and ready. So therefore a man does not have to be so selective with finding a partner and creating offspring. A woman however only is fertile at a certain period a month. And therefore she has to be more selective in finding the right partner for her. Because she has a limited amount of eggs. I also believe that people choose their partner of their choice on the basic instincts that they need to be as "healthy looking" as possible. Because it will increase the chance for getting a healthy offspring. So therefore i think that people always look for healthy and feminine/male features out of basic and primal instincts. Like for example a woman with big boobs. ( Because she can feed the offspring ) The man wil fool himselve with this sometimes. Because a woman with implants can not always give mother milk to her child. But the mere size of the breasts make the man instinctively think she is more capable then other women. Or a woman will look for a man capable of defending her offspring. As in physique. I am not implying that this goes for every man/female. Because there are differences in "likes". But basically the primal instinct wins it from rational thinking. In general. |
