I am pretty new to this site and have noticed something very strange so far since I've been here. I just have a feeling that something isn't right. I have been getting messages from "American" men. (according to their profiles) that sound strange. At first I thought maybe they weren't the best spellers or good at grammar, writing, made a typo etc...whatever. It happens. But in one of the first messages I got, as I started writing back and forth, I picked up on it and noticed that the way they were talking was different than how they wrote in their profile. The personality seemed different and how tthey worded things didn't sound right. Or words they used the wrong way. Just not typical american talk. Even with bad gramma, typos and spelling, I can tell it's an american dude I'm talking to lol. It sounded like broken English and how a foreign person would talk. Plain and simple. And as I started asking questions and they asked me questions, I just knew this wasn't the person in the profile I was talking to. So after that I kinda thought maybe it was a one time thing and didnt think about iet until the next message...I started noticing the same thing again! And so it kept happening. A pattern and similar style of writing, and it keeps happening. 99.9% of the messages I've received are like that. I have only had one or 2 legit people message me. Every single message Ive been getting is a fake foreign man. I don't really trust any message I get now. I'm leary and skeptical and don't know what to believe now. Even if its a real man I don't know if I could believe it. I don't know what to think. I don't think there is anyone real on here lpl. I'm weirded out and it has pretty much ruined it, and not even sure I should bother with this site. It seems like a waste of time. Does anyone else notice this or have an idea what is up with this? It just seems out of control. Also, I did type this from a phone, so don't judge MY grammar lol What has happened to you has happened to other new members. |

my take is that I am on a few sites and for some reason this one draws some of the biggest scammers from around the world, the one thing that keeps me on this site is the forums and you begin to get the gist of them in the forums and other sites don't have that. The cool thing is that some people just connect on the forums and you can get a read that way. Does that ring true with anyone else?

heyy Something... its not the site... it happens everywhere.. I have tracked these down to be mostly Ghanese scammers... they sit in little rooms with rows of computers, male and females on them and are instructed on what to say and do.. unfortunately yeah.. they ruin the experience.. but I just bloke them or report them... but it is annoying for us legitimate folks..

Let me say this most men pull scams. They let you know that they are single but really they got someone already. Not only is he hurting his girlfriend but he is hurting the women he is chatting with because they think they have found someone. There is this lady that I know that here soon to be husband was on these dating sites. He been chatting with this lady and made her believe that she was the one. He told her he will be dreaming of the days when they kiss. But when his girlfriend found out about it she sent the woman a email letting her know that he got someone and how they are getting married. That poor woman cried her heart out. Men are pigs from hell!

I also get dating requests from America with bad grammar. Why would a 24 year old woman want to date a 64 year old guy in Spain. I'm only prepared to meet somebody within a 50 mile radius!!!
Since joining dating sites my spam box gets about 8 sex messages a day and I cannot stop them. I may have to change my e mail address. |

You can stop the 24 year olds from messaging you. |

im not sure its a great place to meet people now, i kinda left the forums after they found out i was weird. but hey humans are humans and we enjoy lots of things

I totally agree, the forums are where you can really get to know people. There are the scammers but the nice people that are here keep me around

yes, they are people from other countries trying to get you to fall in love with them and send them money. a real winner was "from" Texas, couldn't write english correctly, "cut" for cute, with Big Ben in the background of his "picture". Another said "I love your smile" but I'm not smiling in my picture. They usually say that they're widows so you'll feel sorry for them.I too feel pretty yucky about this, especially when, in good faith, you answer one of these jerks.

I get a lot of emails from "Military Men" who all seem to be widows. It's okay to get 1. But when you get like 10 with pretty much the same kind of story, it's just odd. My usual response is "best of luck to you" and Block.

I have the same thing with female profiles messaging me. First one caught me a bit offguard but the rest I have just simply deleted every now and then. Atm it seems that those, who I want to chat with, never reply back and those who msg first, are scammers. But then again I'm new here. Last time when I used forum, it took me around 3 months to find someone interested in a relationship. I see no reason why it should go any quicker now.
