With the football season coming, I wonder if anyone beside myself has chosen not to watch football?

My reasons? Basically, too many drugs, thugs and tattoos.frown

huh Real football has "too many drugs, thugs and tattoos"?

When you mention football on an international website, keep in mind that the vast majority of nations perceive football as being the sport depicted in my above-image.

the best players usually end up on the playing field....i doesn't matter if they carry a piece into the nightclub and shoot themselves in the leg, or carry a bible into church and teach study classes....football is football, i couldn't care less about the players private lives...i like football and i enjoy watching the best players play...

Erm this might seem like a daft question but are we talking American football or football as the rest of the world knows it (Soccer)? If its the rest of the world football it has been ruined by rich business men who no nothing about football and English football has been ruined by capitalist greed such as Sky, BT and the Premier league. That's why although I still love football (Doncaster Rovers)I find the premier league sickening and highly irritating!!

This website is an international website, and yet, some Americans are quite ethnocentric whenever they post comments. They just assume that everyone reading the comments is an American.

That is why I remind Americans what "football" is to the majority of the international community.

I didn't specify what variety of football. Feel free to choose your own.

Fair point well made although American football will always be rugby with padding for me!! with lots of commercial breaks to keep the sponsors happy!!

While I have a favorite team, I enjoy football in general. Every Sunday I have the NFL Redzone on the TV. For me, sports in general is an oasis and an escape. I could care less about the off field antics of the players.
