I'm sorry but I keep seeing this word in so many profiles and of course I am the kind of person that when I see a word I don't know, and I can't get an understanding of it's meaning simply by the way it is used then I can't help but to try to look it up to find it's meaning. sadly try as I may I find the word pionate nowhere in any dictionary that I have access to. Thus I must ask, is this even a word and if not then stop using it, because to use a non existent word just because it sounds smart, shows just how ignorant you truly are.

Well I have just realized like Dr. Zoiberg, that the case is unsolvable. What original happened is the folks who kept using the word were new to english... and spelling.... and any kind of grammatical sense.

I imagine the op saw this....

I reary reary sexty! Please give me your pionate of wat ju timk!
Camel kisses!

correction, it was soufiehere who said that it was the site auto filter removing A-S-S from a word which is not true. as i said passionate is a word that shows up in peoples profile and it has A-S-S in it which proves that soufiehere was wrong in that assumption.
good practice is to think before saying anything and save yourself the embarrassment which is another word with A-S-S in it which i have seen in profiles again proving soufiehere wrong in her assumption which is another A-S-S word found in profiles.
get the idea soufiehere?

It is not an assumption, get the idea yet?

So, why does the word "passionate" show here in the forum and not in someone's post?
Has anyone tried to add the word "passionate" to their profile to see if it gets censored to "pionate"?
It seems such a radical change that it makes the poster sound ignorant.
I was curious about this also, so I just added 'passionate' to a part of my profile and it posted just fine.
Maybe its an old filter setting that has been changed since this thread has been made, idk.

Language is ever changing/ evolving. It's just the nature of the beast. Our modern day language would probably make little sense to Shakespeare in his time and vice versa. "...An ye, harm none, do what ye will..." ohwell flowerforyou

Here's another word:
ILLITERATE.
It's become a national epidemic. Whenever you see "pionate", simply substitute the word "illiterate" and kindly move on, unless you're looking to get involved with a complete moron. frustrated

PIONATE. Pronounced.Pi/o/na/te. My pronunciation.
I have never seen this word before.
I read often and regularly.

I searched it for pronunciation more then meaning.
I've seen it a few times in peoples profiles,
it cought my attention because it doesn't seem to fit
in the flow of reading a sentence.
It comes back as part of a chemical. Isobutyl Pro/pionate/.
Other then this their is no listing on line for the definition of this word.
I also checked in the Scrabble word listing .Came back no such word.
I also looked it up in some dictionary's i have.Webster and Oxford English.
No listing.
I wonder how this word got started and being used in peoples self descriptions. Dosen't seem to mean anything.

For gits and shiggles, I'll try to use the "word" in a sentence.

After smoking my first cigarette of the day, I had to go to the
restroom and pionate like a race horse.

I just saw "pion" and "pionate" on somebody's profile, and thought it was a spelling error or typo. (My spellchecker doesn't like either one, but it has a rather limited lexicon anyway.) I think I have a pretty good vocabulary, but I had never seen it before. I Googled it, and this thread was the first thing that popped up.
Now I can go back to checking out that member's profile. smile2

I rely on pionate to identify scammers. They are mistakenly using it in place of passionate. So let them keep using it. It saves time and makes life easier.

Er, no. Did you miss the earlier post where it was mentioned that it's an old filter that was meant to edit out words that might misuse a-s-s?
Like an older profile I saw today: The member, like many others on here, was last seen over a month ago, but was suggested as a "Match." Her profile says she likes "clic" cars. I'll bet dollars to donuts she typed that as c-l-a-s-s-i-c.

Automation has some limitations. whoa
