Why do so many play games with each other?
I watched a day time show where the woman actually DIVORCED her husband and then stated that she only did it to see if he would fight for her?,,what the what? I also dated a guy who would hide out in places we went together so he could see how many others tried to approach me and what my response was? what the what? I have also known guys that said they passed on pursuing a relationship because the girl had sex on the first date and who knows how many others she had repeated that behavior with. Do they mean the SAME behavior they engaged in? What the what? Jeesh, Grow Up. You either like/love/trust the person or you don't,,, these games and tests are kind of childish. what types of games have you faced or played in a relationship? |

Why do so many play games with each other?
2 reasons. 1. A means to manipulate a situation, a person, or perceptions to get what they want from someone in as efficient of manner as possible. 2. A means to manipulate a situation so that communication is easier. e.g. "I was raped as a child. I have to confess that I wear panties." There are ingrained socially trained responses to confessions, and victimization. If you respond as they think you will, as you are supposed to, as you were trained, then they know what's going on. Possibly with the addition that they will then feel they have more control of the situation rather than the scary limbo of not knowing what's going on in your head or heart. Just like any other game. People play monopoly either because they feel safe in knowing the rules and knowing what's going to happen, the structure, or because they want to "win" or "beat" the other person by getting what they want to the detriment of the other person. she only did it to see if he would fight for her?,,what the what? A lot of people are simply victims to their own emotions and then after they choose to do something stupid they then try to rationalize it into something that shifts blame and consequences of their stupid decision.
It can seem like a game. But really they are just stupid. In the hierarchy of negatives being seen as playing games is not as bad as being perceived as stupid and childish. they passed on pursuing a relationship because the girl had sex on the first date and who knows how many others she had repeated that behavior with. Do they mean the SAME behavior they engaged in? What the what?
See? It's just hindsight rationalization. "Not my fault, I'm not wholly to blame, I didn't just want a one night stand, to use a girl, nope, I'm a nice guy. I behaved a certain way and then put a lot of thought and consideration and weight behind it, and it's based on her behavior, not mine, why I behaved how I did. So I'm not the bad guy." People play games with themselves far more than other people. |

I've had women telling me that it's not a relationship and they don't want to be with me when it suits them to say that and then getting all demanding and clingy and expecting me to be like a "proper boyfriend" when they wanted that. Basically, it makes it a one sided relationship but they can try to make out that it's you that's the demanding one. When they want to say that you're not their boyfriend they can say that anything that a boyfriend would want or expect is unreasonable and when they want you to be their partner and for it to be a relationship, they can say that all you want from them is sex.
