So, as long as they have positions that are not favorable to black people, they are "Tom Types". But Condoleeza Rice has been targeted many times because she is female? I dont think I could explain it to you, truly, in a way you can relate to. but the short answer to the above questions are NO and yes Yes, please splain to me. I would like to know. 'not favorable to', is alot different and broader than 'against' If I dont show someone 'favor', it means I am either treating them inferior or EQUAL,,not favored if I am AGAINST someone, I am not seeing them 'EQUALLY here is an easier to understand definition, although I am doubting it will get through either The term "Uncle Tom" is used as a derogatory epithet for an excessively subservient person, particularly when that person perceives their own lower-class status based on race. It is similarly used to negatively describe a person who betrays their own group by participating in its oppression, whether or not they do so willingly EXCESSIVELY SUBSERVIENT,, Or PARTICIPATING IN OPPRESSION,,,,

Harmony, you are fighting a losing battle on this issue. Conservative blacks and Republican blacks have been complaining for decades about this subject. Look at how much was ever reported on Condalisa (sp?) Rice's point of views, or Colin Powell. they are just labeled as "uncle Tom" blacks and swept to the side by the media. colin powell. I wish he had run for Prezzie
