and semantic traps for that matter .....it's like..... When someone says, "Oh, NOW you're just being Defensive!" What are you suppose to say? "NO I'm NOT!" OR "I can see that you are just not willing to admit that you are wrong." Do these types of statements EVER get the desired response? OK....just one time......... "Yes Dear."

Perhaps the first statement could be countered by being offensive. The second, usually a glare is all I will give. Sort of reminds me of the leading question/admission statement tactic. Like the loaded question: So, have you stopped beating your wife?

Hmm yes you learn nothing about each other except one of you is obsessed with being right most of the time. Sad there are relationships based on this.
