Not so long ago ., I distinctly remember a thread which was worded ... No Roy haters please .. ...... Hardly conducive to expression by those with differing views and a clear example of thread control :-)

If you will also "distinctly" recall, "Please, no lovers of Moore and haters of free speech publicly attack me on the boards for my independent views on this sore subject." was NOT listed in the topic heading or even my first post on the subject. It was an additional statement I made as I furthered the topic.

But I'm glad you brought this subject up.

Because it shows how my words, my topics and my intent can be taken out of context by those who are nit picking just to try and have something to hold over me or claim that I'm the one being unfair and noninclusive.

Having independent views is what a forum is about.. so is the expression of opposing views .. No matter how sore the subject.

And the way we go about expressing ourselves and treating our fellow man/woman demonstrates to the public at large what we're really all about.

Isn't art in all its forms just absolutely grand. bigsmile

Anonymity frees us from perceived obligations...What does this mean?...It means "most" of us don't pick our nose in public, we don't scratch our azzes, chew with our mouth open, pick our teeth with our pinky finger, slurp our "southern sweet tea", or lick the gravy from our plate either...How come?...Fear of judgement would be my guess...It's a POWERFUL motivator for good behavior....

Anonymity can turn a looser into a winner, a liar into a saint, a frog into a prince...The internet is to anonymity what bread is to butter, vanilla ice cream is to warm apple pie, ice cold milk is to Oreos... Anonymity is an internet troll's best friend...sad2

Chronic web complainers often suffer from a dysfunctional sense of identity...They need bucket loads of attention in the form of adulation, sympathy, and emotional support and they will do anything to get it...Internet trolls come in a variety of shapes and sizes...Some pretend to be kind and caring while others come right out with their nastiness...The sneaky ones are the most troublesome to "peaceful" forum communities...Trolls are very clever, but their sense of humor is sorely lacking...Trolls are unhappy people who wind people up in order to feel better about themselves...Attention is troll food!...Don't feed the trolls!...Ignore, ignore, ignore!...Ignoring a troll will create the one environment they cannot tolerate and hopefully, in time, they will exit the same way they came in, through the back door...drinker

But of course you're right, my lady... flowerforyou

I guess my rose colored glasses need new tinting, Leigh. I often forget that problematic peeps really exist and thrive on trying to spread their misery.

Thanks for the reminder.

I must have missed something here Leigh. Did somebody post something about being a loser? If so, it wasn't me.

Thanks, but I had nothing to do with it....I am quite happy to leave those decision up to mods and management...

Umm, somehow I can't imagine you being nervous about starting a thread on ANY topic, any time, any place Athena!...pitchfork ...I don't often visit your threads cause I am famous for falling into friendly banter with my buddies and I don't want to pizz you off:smile: ...However, this is a thread I can appreciate because you have allowed peeps to express themselves without taking it personally (which it almost never is around here) and in doing so, members have been able to read, participate, and assess freely...I think the best and most informative threads are those that are allowed to flow naturally as opposed to those being controlled or guided (manipulated?) by the OP...What say you?....

First of all I find it Ironic that this thread about going off Topic and Highjacking went off Topic..

As far as the rules yes there is a rule protecting members from getting their threads highjacked to a point. The Owner of the site feels that all threads will go off subject from time to time... When it is does at times and several post in a roll go off topic, then it goes back on subject regardless who gets it back on track that is okay..

When a thread gets highjacked to the point of a half of a page or more and it is reported. Then yes we understand it gets a bit frustrating... We do at that time choose how to handle it. We may delete a few of the post and leave a General warning at times there are personal warnings sent. We don't foreclose how the situation is handled.

But regardless the forums are public no one can be told to stay out of a thread unless it is by a Mod or Admin... Any one else that does this on their own is yet breaking the rules themselves..

We do not allow the OP to be controlling to the point that no matter what others response is they want to control that as well. The forums are for having a fun..

Yes it is nice if members all stay on Topic but it is not going to happen that way...

Some sites choose to have it where the OP can block others from their threads. We do not and have no intentions of doing so.

The best way to go about it is to report the problem when it happens. The Mods or Admin will look at the situation and deal with it as it is needed.

The Rules in place at this time, have been discussed in length and we see no reason to change the rules that are in place.

With that said this thread is being locked down...

The Help Forum is for members to report issues or glitches they are having problems with concerning the site....
