im feeling very humbled by a lady at the laundromat. God puts us where we are meant to be at that moment our path is meant to cross with someone else's. I was lazy to do laundry and put it off for a while even though I meant to be done earlier. in order to do all 3 loads at once instead of taking half the day I went to the laundromat. a lady (stranger) started talking to me. the conversation began simply enough and progressed to deeper topics. she was surprised I would treat her with kindness, like her words mean something. I asked her why wouldn't I if everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. she shared her story of forty three years with a husband who has made her undervalue herself but assured me there has never been abuse. I simply said that a person doesn't have to lift a han to another (beat them) to destroy their sense of self. at the end of our conversation she asked if she can give me a hug to thank me for treating her with dignity.

exhilarated today was the first day of softball. it was such a thrill during batting practice, afyer missing a few pitches, the solid WHACK of my bat connecting with the ball. and watching it sail through the air was satisfying. it was music to my eats when one of the guys said, hey we got a hitter here.
