I get the frustration but there should be thought given when killing one. Regardless of how you think of them, rats or infestation or whatever. Give the meat to someone that is hungry. Don't leave it lay to rot and waste. There are plenty of people that would be very grateful if given meat they would otherwise not have. You tried to field dress five hundred and one night |

I just shoot the bastards and leave them laying That is a waste. I do not waste good meat. Hind quarters and back strap sells for 50 pesos por kilo in Mexico. Don't forget all the hungry people that animal could feed. Give it to a soup kitchen or something but don't leave it lay to waste! 1/2 half an hour in the sun, un-gutted renders the meat useless. I have given meat away. I have two trap styles that are very effective. Monday, I will start calling ranchers in Presidio to see if they want an effective trapper. I was agreeing with you willing.
