So true Moe...they should not be engaged in any conversation. Dating scam websites warn against this all the time.

If it's someone i've never talked to on the forums here is my list

1. To young(at least be old enough to drink)

2. To old(be within 9 years of my age)

3. I'm not attracted

4. Different Country

5. TEXT CHAT=Instant block

6. Profile states "Separated"(No I don't care about the circumstances)

7. In the messages talks about their ex...keep your drama elsewhere

8. Asks me to use email, or another form of communication besides here

9. Having No photo and saying "i'll send one if you ask" sorry if your not willing to put one up, then it's probably not good enough to warrant me asking for it.

10. Not reading my profile enough to at least know I'm not looking for a girlfriend

Living too far away for dating is the main one. I'll reply to any old crap if they're local. For a while anyway. Anyone can seem like a retard on the internet but women that it's actually possible for me to date deserve the benefit of the doubt I think. I also avoid the seperated ones though.

Starting the message like:

Hey, baby... you are so beautiful

You're Hot


or


Hey..

All are unacceptable.

I like, Hi, My name is ---- I like your profile, I also like to read/ watch horror movies/ have a chau, pug, or poodle.

.. if I get this feeling.. that if I answered your message... my phone will blow up.
. are get all wonky on me.. are simply all my personal information on my phone will suddenly disappear.... are perhaps after two messages.
. you show up at my doorstep. with 12 children.
. WANTING me to marry you. NOW..LOL..

If I may add my thoughts about responding to strangers. I'm quite aware that there are scammers and pervs in the net space and may I add that they are from both genders. Still I think that if you are here to meet new people you should at least be civil enough to write back. It can be just 'not interested' or 'don't write to me anymore'. At least that's the way I feel about it.

In order of importance to me:

1. different culture --> no reply
2. Bossy & very demanding (I want you ... ) --> no reply
3. Bad English (scammer / different culture) --> no reply
4. Only saying Hi, Hey, Hello dear, kind of stuff --> no reply
(I esp effing hate the "DEAR" bit!!!)
5. Tell me their 'resume' instead of trying to start a nice/fun conversation --> no reply
6. not reading my profile --> depends on their own message

I have replied to ppl younger/older and/or without photo. If the message is decent, I usually reply, if only to tell them I'm not interested, but wish them good-luck nonetheless.

Also had good and fun conversations with men without profile picture, just depends on the style of their message whether I reply. So to me the message itself is more important than a picture.

The only thing that would actually make me not reply are things beyond my control. Like say if I died, my computer dies, I lose internet access for some reason, the power goes out. Nothing can really make me not reply. It's really more like things that would prevent me from replying.

Now things that make me want to not reply are basically things that tell me the person is a retarded scammer which it seems like 99% of them are. hahaha

It would be much easier to list the things that make me reply....

1. Sincerity....

I don't feel obligated to respond, I choose to because I feel that it's a gesture of courtesy. I contacted a woman on another site a couple of years ago and she politely responded saying that while she appreciated my attention she didn't think we were a match. She closed by saying "I hope you find what you are seeking." I've followed her example ever since. Contrary to what others have apparently encountered, the only subsequent messages I've received under those circumstances were expressions of appreciation for the courtesy. If I'm contacted by an obvious scammer sometimes I delete their message, block and report them. Sometimes I find it fun to engage them.

I think it can to fun to talk to them. It's kind of fun when you tell the scammer you know they are a scammer and they act all insulted by it.

same here.. let me also add those messages saying "your the one i've been searching for" or telling me those very long "poetic" message idk where they get.. Also i dont want to be rude (im not perfectionist) but i dont reply to those who cant even construct a sentence that is comprehensible.
