Wandering the dark desolate streets
Head bowed, Shuffling her feet A hollow empty feeling casts a shadow Upon her heart If you look into her eyes You can clearly see All the lies, Empty promises And broken dreams Looking closer still You can see A bitter storm of hatred She hates who she has become Tiny droplets of rain begin to fall In the distance she spots an overhang With tired feet and a heavy heart She sinks down against the wall Hatred turning to sorrow Tears slide down her cheeks Best friends forever? There is no such thing Life is meant to be lived alone I'm sorry Is nothing but a phrase Only useful for dimming guilt Wiping the tears and make-up away She walks on With nothing more than a hollow mpty feeling Casting a shadow Upon her useless heart |

Saddened by a lost love the lonely old man gets into his car and heads back to a small town he use to call home along the way he contemplates if this will be the last time he puts his heart out there,or if the semi coming down the road will be the one to end his misery.Nope he lets the semi pass and tries to fill his mind with happier thoughts after all he has a son to raise and how would that feel to leave him with that kind of legacy.miles and miles pass by and the old man tries to fill his mind with happier thoughts again after all hes going back home after being gone for ten long years ..it sure will be good to see home again back to the country open farmland ,deer cows hay fields tobacco fields the smells the friendly folks who still wave at you as you drive by only twenty more miles til home as he turns the last corner to enter his home town hes taken aback by what he sees ten years ten years no more open fields friendly faces tall trees but row after row of houses lines and lines of traffic no friendly waves his hometown is no longer...wheres that semi?
