Topic: scent of flowers | |
---|---|
Many times after and a few times before I've lost someone close to me ive experienced smelling flowers when none were around. Sometimes the smell is very specific like peonies or roses. Sometimes it simply smells of a mixture of flower scents like in a floral cooler or funeral flowers. I used to think it was the spirit of my loved one who passed until i started smelling them before a passing. I've also experienced other smells i thought may have been associated with a spirit. Only the smell was uneasy and i couldn't pinpoint or describe it. Only unpleasant. Has anyone else experienced this? What's your take?

TBRich, do you believe this is communication from spirits? That its messages of peace with flowers and warnings with the unpleasant smells?

Me Personally? No I don't believe it is communication from spirits. I believe it is your unconscious talking to your conscious mind. But you should believe what helps you best

I always thought it was my way of making peace with a passing. But then it happened before a passing. And also the other smells. Makes me wonder.

Your unconscious mind perceives and knows more than your conscious mind and it may very be trying to alert you and help you deal with these situations. It is pleasant to smell flowers in sad times

Rc I would have to defer to Tbrich because he is educated on this subject and I believe his explanation and I too have associated certain smells with people and places in my life, I thought it was only me.

RCB. I believe you are smelling the beautiful scent of flowers before you experience something bad like a passing to condition your mind to be able to handle the loss you are about to encounter. I have had similar experiences like this. When I go to a greenhouse or flower shop cooler the smell is amazing. I love this smell and it puts my mind at a peaceful place. And brings back memories of my mom. I also randomly find dimes that my mom leaves for me in the strangest of places!!! I always say thanks mom when I find one!!! Take care!!! Cherish every moment!!!

Could be you're opening up spiritually. Many people smell things, dunno what it's called in English, like clair-voyance you got clair-?? (smelling???) as well. Not at all uncommon and more and more ppl are waking up these days, so maybe this is happening to you.
You notice any other things? I.e. seeing double numbers a lot or know who's gonna call before they do, that kind of stuff. |

Recently I experienced a loss that almost broke me mentally and spirituality. I dont know maybe I am a bit more open spiritually because of it? My faith and understanding of God and purpose is totally different than before. I dont see double numbers but there is a number that since I was little has always been significant to me. I notice it everywhere. Like I have a friend and this number is all in her home. From the number of fruit in a bowl to the number of water spots on her ceiling. I see it over and over there. Its also the number that both my children skip or forget when counting and I also noticed its a very significant number in the Bible. My eyes have been opened and I look to see the bigger picture now and I'm not so closed minded. |

I don't claim to be psychic and don't believe in all the crazy junk posted in the internet, but in my past I was in combat almost a decade, I used to smell roses just before (sometimes 2-3 days) someone bites it. I been able to do this all my life, as well as my mother and grandmother. I don't particularly like how roses smell, and therefore am annoyed with it. I was able to foretell several deaths of friends and loved ones as well including my parents and grandparents. I also get a "bad feeling" just before something bad happens, which is really handy. I pull over and always where I would have been something happens. When I ignore it, something bad always happens. I don't think I have an active pineal gland, or former life, chakra or chi aligned, made any pacts with satan, been involved in any rituals, gamma radiation, found zen, talked to angels, demons or any of that mumbo jumbo, it all boils down to animal instinct, which we directly ignore bc we are updating facebook, tweeting or some other inane task. Pets know when someone is sick or dying before they do, are they psychic? Hardly.
Perhaps everyone can do this if they pay attention to the world and look through it instead of at it. That's what have always done since a child. I guess it's second nature. I do like to freak people out that know me by asking them if they are wearing a rose scented perfume though - always been a good party trick :P |

Does or does not this comfort or prepare you for the persons death? Can you explain why the smell is unpleasant?
Yes, I have had a similar experience, only once and it was not about death at all. I smelled a changing array of aromas, citrus, flowers, spices all wafting together. Was lovely and I was not around any of these things |

I've had many experiences where I smelled flowers, perfumes my sister or mother would wear in life, or pipe tobacco my dad smoked. I like to think they are next to me. I've had experiences where I knew what someone would say before they said it, or knew something would happen before it happened. I also had a few experiences where I would meet someone and feel we had met before though we hadn't. But we knew each others names and other things about each other.

Before a friend of mine died she made me promise to always be there for her children, and then after she died a few months later one of her daughters called me to help with something, and I agreed and on my way to her house to pick her up I smelled my friends perfume that she always wore. The scent filled my car up. When her daughter got in the car it faded away.

perfumes and tobacco smoke are absorbed into the walls of a home for a lingering wiff that will come to you again, and again. Smelled my own perfume upon returning back to my home in my bedroom after 2 months being away. Was kinda strange, I didn't wear that scent for a few weeks.
oh, hi, winter. |
