oh, ya know,,,,any Segway to slamming big names..lol

I could make a thread about how terrible it is that Westgate disturbs and intimidates people people during a time of mourning

and it would turn instead into a thread about the Government and how healthcare reform initimidates citizens out of their rights,

sigh

just par for the Mingle2 course,, really:tongue:

What? Why would someone want to hijack a thread of dead Fred Phelps?
maybe someone will, we can only hope. sad2

Similarities being.

Phelps spewed words at people.

MJ spewed gism on boys.

Key word for the comprehension impaired, SIMILARITIES.laugh

Leave it to willing to try to change the topic away from Fred Phelps.

Disparaging?

Who doesn't comprehend the term similarities?

phelps was on camera and in print doing and saying plenty for everyone to SEE and HEAR for themselves

MJ has a lot of people ASSUMING what he did without ever seeing or hearing for themselves , and call an accusation 'evidence' of guilt

unless its an accusation that doesn't fit with their narrative

but again,, the 'DONT HIjACK THE THREAD" brigade is not on their job in this thread,,,lol

So now you know that other little pedophile thug too. At least Phelps did his vile crap right out in the open, doesn't really change just how vile some can get in the name of religion.

Well there was something about the subject of the OP meeting him in hell, then ...

yes, MJ, one of the most charitable men in the last half century, who constantly promoted the ideals of love and self esteem

will be in the same place as a man who promoted hate and (to my knowledge anyway) pretty much nothing else,,,

bingo, a hijack. Hope this helps.

For any of you who don't know, he was the leader of Westboro Baptist Church. Those are the ones who picket funerals with signs that say, "God hates fags". They picket with such signs at funerals, as well.
I wonder, does his heaven smell like a Boxer's (dog breed) farts, taste like IHOP, and feel like Death Valley on a BAD day? I certainly ****ing hope so!

My condolence

Well, I won't say I'm not glad he's dead, but I do feel sorry for these poeple, it must be terrible to live your life full of hate. Pity them, they will never really know happiness. Then go out and support gay marriage and vote for people you support equality. Don't sink down to the level of the hate mongers, we have to be better than them.

I have a great friend from high school who finally admitted he was gay and now he is married to a wonderful man. The only thing I would truly hate is to live in a world where they couldn't be together as long as they want.

You left out that the only funeral's he picketed were mostly soldiers, women and children who were brutally raped and murdered (like Brianna Dennison, a 18 year old college girl who was brutally raped and murdered and her body was found naked out in a field here in Reno. He was here personally and if I could have gotten my hands on him but he and his group hid behind the Police, who had to be disgusted with the job of protecting that a$$hole.)

His the majority (I believe the number is about 95 percent) of his so called church are his family.

He was just a POS and hate monger passing himself off as a minister just like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, Jeremiah Wright and William Pierce.

So very true, but how can one justify associating with one so medieval in their interpretation of religion. I could understand how it could happen before the printing of the bible that many could afford. But once the bible came into common ownership, the people understood just how bad they had been lied to and the age of canon law subsided, thankfully.

Now I can't see being a homosexual but that is just my personal belief not something I have a right to project upon another. I have had some wonderful gay friends throughout my life that have been truly wonderful people as individuals.

But why anyone would want to be controlled by the government by subscribing to marriage is beyond me. Perhaps it is they ill understand the implication, much like the mindset of the followers of religious zealots like Phelps.

ON THE TOPIC OF PHELPS,,,

'I did see and hear him and his crowd doing and saying terrible things, all over the press, with my own ears and eyes,, that had to be very disturbing for loved ones trying to mourn their losses

I do hope that others (like you say) don't stoop to the same level of those they condemned by imitating their behaviors,,flowerforyou

Fred Phelps was correct to say that the God of Judaism and Christianity condemns sex between two people of the same gender.

Fred Phelps was wrong to say that God hates people who engage in sex with others of the same gender.

Phelps preached an anti-Gospel.

absolutely, everyone has flaws (for the non religious), and everyone sins(for the religious)

Phelps missed the mark in his APPROACH to correction,,,seeming to take pleasure in condemning rather than showing hope of uplifting,,

Yep. In Mark 10:18 (ESV), Jesus says, "No one is good except God alone." Fred Phelps wrongfully singled out behavior that he personally did not engage in, while ignoring the fact that some of his own behavior was in conflict with God's rules. He showed no humility in regards to his own spiritual state.

Actually you did. Went from a passing comment about Phelps meeting the pedophile in hell to a full blown hijack in your post.
