I don't invest feelings in people I haven't met yet, so I don't end up falling for pen pals. I believe you need to spend time with a person and get to know them before you know if what your feeling is love, lust or just a break from the loneliness. So if I like a women I'm writing too, I'll try to set up a way to meet her. If she resists I take it sign that she isn't interested and I back off.

They hang around, sometimes tongue tied, but you know they just linger a little longer find several reasons to continue a conversation.

They mention when they haven't seen you for a day or so. They know your routines. It isn't an accident that they show up around your patterns.

They get their act together. Where they may have been kind of mopeing around or not paying attention to themselves they will "spiff" up a bit. May get a haircut or trim up the facial hair. I have seen guys shave off long worn mustaches to win over a gal who says they prefer none or grow the five o'clock shadow look, whatever the current in look is. lol

They clean their vehicles. Maybe get new tires because your safety riding with them is a new concern. They pay attention to your car. They offer to make sure you won't run out of gas or if the oil is good. They buy you new jumper cables or are concerned if you get home and in the house after a get together.

Their appetite falls off. They start talking about what they eat. They get new interest in going to the gym. They might actually buy a new pair of pants or shoes. Suddenly they care how they look naked. They finally buy some new or sexy underwear. lol

They actually offer to order dessert for just you or to share. They come over they actually bring food they are not going to eat. If you have kids they bring stuff your kid likes or needs like a gallon of milk or diapers. They see to it you get chocolates for Valentines, Easter baskets for your kids, have a Turkey for Thanksgiving. If they always wanted a birthday party as a kid they will make sure you get one or your kids do.

If you compliment something they wear or do they have a new interest in it. You tell them you like a certain color they wear it a lot. They suddenly are not touchy about you wearing their clothes or putting their hat or shades on. If it is cold they will offer you their coat or gloves. They take you on a picnic they actually bring ground cover. They may buy you a souvenier t-shirt or sports jersey of their favorite team.

They want to have their picture taken with you.

They want to be able to communicate with you. They will buy you a phone or give you their various numbers; maybe even work numbers just in case you need them.

They pay attention to how your kids treat you. They may not say anything but you see them stiffen when the kid is trying to run over you. They back you up when you want your kid to do something. And they are more aware if your kids are alright and doing well. If they smoke they are likely not to do it around your kids. They start offering to help pay a babysitter or "make nice" with your siblings or parents. They may show your kid a new skill or or offer them an in into their profession. They may give your kid a paid chore like washing the car or clean up at a friends yard. They take them to a union activity or fix their bike or car. If someone is hassling your kid they offer to be seen in the background. They will show up for their sports or IEP meeting, or even court hearings. Or at least want to know how they went.

They show they actually care about your health. They make sure you are buckeled up. Did you get a flu shot. They care if you have to get up the next morning for work rested. If you have a cold they bring over soda and cold medicine. They know when your time of the month is. They follow up on little things like a bruise or a comment about a bully co-worker. They may try to get you into school or a promotion or encourage you to get a better job even if it is less money and they have to "contribute" more on expenses. They care if you have worn or broken tools or stand on a chair to fix things.

And like has already been said they say they like you by saying they like the things you like or love. Sometimes they hold off saying I like or love you directly if you say it makes you distrustful or uncomfortable but they hint around at it or write it or say it once because they are compelled to but they let you come around to the idea. Sometimes it is a reference to you remind them of someone they love or respect like a sister, grandmother, or mother which is a very serious clue you matter to them; not that you look like that person or are not still sexually attractive.

Wow .... coming from a guy I'm impressed.... for it is things like this that most women would give anything for...

If the case it is online your speaking of..It is hard to tell till it goes to private e-mail then phone calls.... and after you have really met them face to face... Feelings online is not always the same once you actually meet them...

I have had them say all the right things did the private e=mail, phone conversations for hours...then met them, then it was really what was I thinking????

Just have fun with it but unless they are willing to meet never put your life on hold...for what you think could be.... you could miss the one in front of you that could be...

Myself it's local or nada.....done tried the LDR more then once...I'm not moving.... would have considered it in the past... no longer...

LOL Yea sometimes it is a fine line between infatuation and stalking.

Because it can be intimidating for women to be followed and get too much attention I advise guys to not wait too long before they "get up to bat" so to speak.

If you are interested in some one just say you are "interested in be more that forum Mingle pals" and "invite (them) to chat if (they) are likewise interested". Don't play all your cards straight away and profess you are crushing on them but they will get the idea if respond to their email daily.

Sure you risk getting shot down but better to have someone friend zone you than totally block you because it starts to sound creepy, or desperate, or lame.

Or worse if you are feeling jealous because you are not getting the response you want and get irritated because it will come through as threatening.

If you are having a tough time feeling "shut down or shot down" you can block some one, with out them knowing, and still enjoy Mingle until the "feelings" pass. Actually continuing to have friends and move forward will help you forget faster.

If you are really bummed it might be a good idea to take a Mingle Vacation because the negative vibes will come through in your interactions and then you get a bad reputation as damaged and that tends to grow or at least follow you as people read your posting history.
