I'm curious, do you picture your Christian God as a man?

Is that what you really think God is like or do you think it's just the image most familiar to you and so it pops up in your head?

If it's a man, is he hispanic?

I see all these pics of white-bearded men and skinny white boys and I can't help thinking that's not realistic for either God or the man Jesus.

But for me (as anyone can plainly see) the only thing that is truly certain is that I don't have any concrete answers. Just thoughts and beliefs... feelings and hopes...

but it is as useful to picture all the things you mention as God as any one certain thing...

But for me even those things/beings alone are not God... God is all those things and much much more... god is all space and all time... no there is no point in trying to narrow God down...

and as someone (Kid?) pointed out the other day we don't need to have all the answers now.. we will get what we need as we need it...

i cannot picture God as a man or a woman. God is a spirit He/She/It can have sex. I say He when I refer to God just for the custom.

I thought for you (and many others) picturing God as a person might just be a habit... but I wasn't sure because of all the "man was made in God's image" references...

it's a phrase used to potentiate the idea that the man was superior to the woman which is an absolute fallacy.
the human being as a class was made in God's image because even if we deny His/Her/Its existance He/She/It is still inside as, and that is why we see non-believers as beautiful and loving as Jess.

The word God has been misused and misplaced,,,so many god dam times.....we get anxious and or cautious when using it.
