If you would have ask me one day before if I would go behind as a Soldier's wife when I did I would have told you that you had lost your mind. Me? No way. When I did it it was worth every sacrifice, every lonely seperation, every way it turned my life inside out. Because we were blissfully happy just knowing we were mated.
Would I do a LDR not meeting in the first year; no, I would think the person was just fooling around. With technology today if you can't figure out weather you want to pursue something then you are not going to know any more in person. I do think you have to be smart about it and only go where you know you have friends, family, employment, and independent shelter. Least a vacation debt you can live with. |

Hi all,
for what it's worth I'd like to add my pennies worth. I firmly believe a long distance relationship CAN work if both the people involved are honest, vocal and willing to go that extra mile to make it work. The biggest failure is lack of communication with one another and when the words die out then it's game over. However if you begin a relationship by talking and understanding everything about that person then I believe it make's that relationship stronger. As for meeting, heard of a plane have we? These days it takes less time to get to some places in the world in same time it takes to complete a days work. And if you are genuine about wanting the LDR to work why allow such an easily overcome obstacle stand in your way or TRUE happiness? |
