Long distance relationships are hard... but if you both love each other than y'all should be able to work it out:) Plus with all the technology today its not hard to see or talk to each other:)

They're mostly a waste of time. It's only very rarely that they work!

Both people have to put in the effort. I have had 1 LDR. Drove 2500 miles each month for 2 years. She did nothing. I finally quit. I hate giving up on anything, but stupidity was just wearing me down. Lesson learned.

Both people have to put in the effort. I have had 1 LDR. Drove 2500 miles each month for 2 years. She did nothing. I finally quit. I hate giving up on anything, but stupidity was just wearing me down. Lesson learned. Don't feel to bad. That happens when dating local too as well as with those who are living in even the same home. It wasn't the type of relationship you were in but who you were in the relationship with. Back on LDR topic...This seems to be a very common topic Here on mingle. I understand why. The coolest people I've talked to have been from this site and every single one was from somewhere across an ocean. Even gave the LDR a try and where I was willing it just didn't work out. I say they can work but be ready to work! Someone better have the resources to travel and a whole lot of trust! Oh and keep other people's noses out of your relationship. I say GO FOR IT if that's what your heart says! Best Wishes! |

I think it depends on the people. It's alot of work I must admit, I've been in two myself and it was pretty hard. I realized I don't care for them because I need physical contact so yeah I think they work if both people are ok with not seeing eachother all the time. Communication, trust, and LOTS of patience are key.

I am in a LDR, and we plan to meet. There has to be a connection. Get to know each other deeply, share secrets, be honest, and take the steps to make your dream come true. I know her better than people I see every day, and am not going to stop until she's in my arms. I know its possible, I have friends who have made it work, and are married, and happy, happy, happy! But, you have to start with hello, or you'll never know.
