So, who are you leaning towards Miquel??

my bet would be richardson.
however, i would say that for him being hispanic he might be leaning towards too much to hispanic community.
I think that a president must be fair with all the people living in the land.
So I would lean towards Edwards.

I like Richardson, but it doesn't look good for him.

Maybe this debate will pick his numbers up! If not then Edwards is a good man. I totally believe his honesty, and have talk to him before! drinker drinker

What I've heard and seen of him sounds good.
Problem is, how much support will he have in congress and in the senate to force all of his ambitions through?

i think the North American people are fed up with republicans.
I may also say that for this reason, in the near future we can have a democratic majority in Congress which may support him (if he wins ofcourse).

Though it would be historic for hillary to win, I hope she doesnt because that really cements the idea of 2 opposing dynasties and bush/clinton/bush/clinton that cannot be allowed to happen. Dynasties are not democratic

M-

I've been busy but I was wondering how you thought the candidates did in the debate? I know Dodd gained a lot more recognition because of his fluency, most people in the hispanic community here knew about Richardson but they loved that Dodd spoke fluent spanish as well- although as you mentioned they were not allowed to continue answering in Spanish.

For some reason Hilary is very popular in the hispanic community as well, not sure why, maybe because health care is so vital and lacking in these communities?

I always liked John Edwards and his "two Americas" but it seemed like he really lost his momentum since Elizabeth announced her illness. When Edwards and Kerry were here I went to see them (and Bruce Springsteen of course) at Bayfront Park. The crowd went crazy when Kerry said something like "how about my friend Edwards- what about if he was around for 16 years (the implication being that Edwards would be his VP for 8 years and then run for, win and keep the presidency for 2 terms). Of course the crowd was there to see them so the cheering wasn't a real surprise but Edwards was just so much more charismatic than poor wooden, new-englander Kerry.
