Topic: Any Karaoke Lovers in here??? | |

Please tell me there is someone running around this site that loves Karaoke. No music section would be complete without at least one Karaoke Section haha.
So tell me all my fellow Music Addicts out there how many Performers do we have here in the Mingle community? |

Don't do karaoke, but once a year I sing during a proper gig with a band. I'm one of some 14 singers, so we all do a couple songs each, but we help each other out with backing as well, cos it's fun and we all really like being on stage and performing
Guessing rehearsals (with singers) will start in February, we're a bit late this year, the band only started rehearsing last week :S The gig is on what used to be Queensday, but as we now have a king, it'll be Kings day. |

Nice I have done the whole live thing myself too got a few bands trying to get me in with em at the moment. Never been a fan of the fame that comes with it seen it do bad things to my friends lol. Not to mention I wasn't a fan of people knowing me that I didn't even know and always calling me a god. Just not a comfortable feeling in my opinion. I do love singing though so I love Karaoke. Very unassuming and you can still shred the mic and woo the crowd lol. |

Very unassuming and you can still shred the mic and woo the crowd lol. Nice to have been in a band! I can understand not liking the glorification though. But if I'd known how much I'd enjoy performing, I would have gotten into it years ago and probably tried a band. Now I enjoy the once a year thing for as long as it lasts. Usually eats up a couple of months anyway, rehearsals, organizing and all. I think I done karaoke once, long time ago, in some holiday park. But there weren't any monitors, or maybe not switched on, can't remember, but I couldn't hear myself. Nice experience, hahaha. I developed an instant fear of mics, lol. Had a similar thing once on stage, sound-guy turned down the stage monitors (why I don't know, total w@nker) while I was in the midst of "funky Music". So couldn't hear what I was singing anymore, the audience speakers were still working though. Wonderful ... These days I'm far more confident, so I'd deal with it differently. Think that was only the 2nd time ever on stage for me. Not that I've done that many, but just more confident now. |
