Topic: What are public pictures? | |
---|---|
My pictures are all posted "public." What does that mean? Can only people on Mingle2 see them, or are they now available all across the www?
I don't want to change them to "private" if that hides them from Mingle2 men. To me, profiles without pictures generally means people who are ashamed of themselves for one reason or another. I don't want to send that message at all. |

It means exactly what you think it means, they are public when so labeled, seen by anyone/everyone. Private also means just that, you have to send the URL of a private picture to someone to make it available to them. Once something hits the www, it is around indefinitely :-) |

Public makes them visible to your profile here
Private means no one can see them. The only way members can see them is by emailing them the URL link to that picture. As far as www, there are programs to search as picture any where on the web |

Scary thought isn't it.

Thanks for the replies. I made most of them private. Are other dating sites the same? With public pictures?

I don't know if all of them have that kind of option. But I would expect that a lot of them do. It's a good security measure.

Unless the site has a lock, then yes.
Other sites, including Facebook, do not have this |
