Did anyone know that Nelson Mandela was a murderer? He and his band of warriors killed men women children. And the gave him the Nobel peace prize. There was a reason he was in prison. He started off with good intentions but like all people that gets power always use murder as a means to a end. If you dont believe what I am writing check south Africas history it's all there they just nit allowed to publicize it,

thank you for the compliment
I don't think after nearly 35 years doing the time, one suddenly decides getting out is a motive to change,, seems such a motive would have happened much sooner IM sure there are mixed feelings about him, apartheid was very popular amongst some and just the comfortable status quo for others, and was part of a group that had used bombs in retaliation,,,, he represented change that not everyone welcomes, |

Do we expect Mandela to be a saint?
*MOST* of the great people in history did messed up things. You have to have passion, determination, arrogance, and a willingness to go to extremes to really make an impact on society. I've heard credible horror stories about the "founding fathers" of the US, MLK, Ghandi, Mother Theresa....the list goes on. Norman said it: "the main thing is that he made a difference in a positive way.. " |

One thing that is never said or printed is the origin of South Africa. When the Dutch first settled there it was empty except for some Pigmy nomads that came through. Similar to the Bedouins up north. The Black Africans came down for work on the farms and then in the mines. The original idea of apartheid was to keep control of the country in the hands of the founders. I am not condoning the methods. The founding fathers of the US wanted the same thing. They just went about it in a humane way with some silly little document called the Constitution. The pendulum is now swinging the other way and in time all the Afrikkaners will be gone and South Africa will be like Zimbabwe.
Wasn't it Mandela and his wife that made the term "necklacing" popular. It is still bing used today in Black on Black violence. If you are not a supporter of ANC you are an enemy to be executed. Hence the pendulum. |

I think necklacing was used to describe the practice used FIRST Against anti apartheid protesters,, where they were burned inside a rubber tire,,, the anti apartheid crowd began threatening to use it in retaliation,,,yes I also don't believe the information is accurate that the dutch were the first there,, I Think its as fallacious as the belief that Columbus 'discovered' America,, the Bantu and other 'tribes' were there, and blacks and whites continued to live there until such time that the population was divided by race and given rights according to their racial categorization (not just their geographic location) I don't know of much 'necklacing' done,, black on black or otherwise in the states,,,,, |

He also wouldn't denounce the terrorist tactics his group was using. He was also a very strong supporter of Castro and Gadaffi. In the end he was a changed person and renounced violence. He was a very complex person to say the least. |

I think there is a difference between starting a war and defending yourself in the midst of one,,,, and thank you Beheading an innocent child isn't defending yourself. I have no evidence and read no substantiated verification of such a claim,, even in this thread the claim is that his wife had it done,, and he just 'stood by her',....whatever that means,,,,, IN a time when people are at war, and having violence used against them, they often resort to violence in return,,,,,,,we call it 'war' when its governments who hold power and weapons,,,,we call it defending freedoms and rights HE livd in a time when there was a need to defend freedoms and rights after trying to do it peacefully for decades (of his life) hadn't worked,,,and then he was incarcerated before he ever took part in any of the 'new' tactics,,,, |

Mandela, as president of SA, allowed the massacre of thousands of white farmers there. This is a program similar to what took place in Zimbabwe. Mandela was more moderate but he loved and sang the song,"Death to the Boers", meaning death to the whites.

Mandela was more moderate but he loved and sang the song,"Death to the Boers", meaning death to the whites. actually, death to boers didn't mean death to whites, boers were the dutch 'settlers' who had occupied south Africa, even the British(which includes white people) Went to war with the boers and even put some in concentration camps to take the land for themselves,,, as to the rest,,being hat he was 76 when he became president, and deaths had ALREADY Been happening, Im not sure what magic he could use to bring it to a stop,, IM sure it wasn't just white farmers being murdered , after or before his presidency,,, |

"Boer", has come to mean all whites not just the white farmers.
