I would choose the fifty's I like the cars, clothes, lingo, and of course the music. To me it seems more of a time of innocence.

yup the 50s defintely. Enough modern home living so that we'd have many creature comforts we enjoy now but not so much crappy television and constantly invasive and annoying media intruding in our daily lives all the time.
Men still asked women out on dates and the music was great....just don;t buy an Edsel...lol |

It would be good to revisit the 1960s, here in the UK times were changing, improving, we all had jobs so money to spend, and some kind soul invented the mini skirt.

Probably the dark ages where I descend on the people like a deity and raise an enormous army with which I would conquer the world. I would also bring with me as much knowledge on modern medicine and science to more quickly improve the quality of life or that time period making them adore their iron fisted ruler.

I wish I grew up in the 1950s in my younger years, to my teens in the 1960s, then adulthood in the 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond.. I wouldnt be so depressed as I am now. Life was simpler back then, even though society back then was ignorant. The entertainment such as the movies, music, tv shows, and sitcoms, sketch comedies.. its endless.. the entertainment was gold back in those decades..when the late 90s came.. then entertainment started to go down in quality and talent was declining from 2000 and beyond..I would've loved to grow up with artists like Elvis, Buddy Holly, bill haley etc of the rockabilly artists.. then the 60s with the beatles, stones, kinks, animals, paul revere n the raiders, jefferson airplane, blue cheer, pretty things, the hollies, then the 70s with deep purple, black sabbath, uriah heep, budgie, rush, then the 80s with depeche mode, new order, metallica, judas priest, slayer, venom, siouxie ad the banshees, the cure, the cult, madonna... the list is just endless with so much talent in those 4 decades.. then you have sitcoms and sketch comedies.. carol, burnett show of the 60s-70s, sanford and son, all in the family, perfect strangers of the 80s.. I'm gonna stop now.. but I wish I could live my childhood in the 1950s and experience the magic of the 50s,60s,70s, and 80s.

What century or decade would you choose to live in and why? For me, it would be the 50's as I believe [my opinion} that life was much simpler and people seemed more content and happy. A better question. If your 53 year old self could go back in time and speak to your 19 year old self, What would you say to her? I would say three words to my 19 year old self. Yahoo, Google, and Microsoft. |

I would have loved the wild west. I would have had my own band of outlaws. I could have done whatever the hell I wanted. Drinking whiskey all day, robbing people, and if I fancied a bit of crumpet I would just kick open the saloon doors and grab myself a big buxom blonde. Yeeehaaa!

I think the little house on the prairie days would be awesome, but I don't think I could handle using the outhouse during the night outside

I would choose the 70's. I love the cars, the music, TV shows, clothing, and the overall vibe. Every decade has their problems, but I could deal with a war and gas shortage to be able to dance to disco music and wear my hair like Farrah Fawcett EVERYDAY!!
