'government is bad, we will prove it by letting you keep more of the money you 'earn' , and when defunding and lack of funding lead to improperly functioning government,, we will use THAT as proof that government is bad',,,,

poor people , bad lazy, taxpayers, moral and hard working and deserving

stop assisting the poor folks cause then they will do nothing to help themselves,,

blah, blah . blah

Wow, what a straw-man argument the above-post is. whoa

really?

who said these things dodo?

You have a very poor neighborhood. You have kids who are required under law to go to school. They have no money. They have no habit of work. What if you paid them part-time in the afternoon to sit at the clerical office and greet people when they came in? What if you paid them to work as the assistant librarian? And I'd pay them as early as is reasonable and practical.,,,

NO HABIT OF WORK? like those non impoverished kids obviously do huh?

They're just pushing harder and harder to get more and more of you dependent upon them so they can get your vote. That's what the bottom line is. I don't want to make black people's lives better by giving them somebody else's money; I want to give them the opportunity to go out and earn the money.

and how do they eat and live UNTIL Those opportunities are found?

I went down this morning to sign up my Dog for welfare.

At first the lady said, "Dogs are not eligible to draw welfare".

So I explained to her that my Dog is black, unemployed, lazy, can't speak
English and has no frigging clue who his Daddy is.

So she looked in her policy book to see what it takes to qualify...

My Dog gets his first check Friday.

Is this is a great country or what?

You're facilitating the problem if you give an animal or a person ample food supply. They will reproduce, especially ones that don't think too much further than that. And so what you've got to do is you've got to curtail that type of behavior. They don't know any better."

Also, what makes you think that your sources represent the Republican Party?

By the way, should Democrats switch to the Republican Party because the ACA is killing a woman?

the ACA is not a political party

republican politicians time and again, n pandering to their CONSTITUENCY, send a message of smaller government and and spread the myth of the undeserving , stupid, and lazy poor

and barely address the institutional racism issues that so many blacks face and are important to them

they work to reverse policies that sought to reduce discrimination like AA and voting rights,,,etc,,,

so blacks will continue QUITE LOGICALLY to decline aligning their vote with individuals who espouse such classist nonsense which so disproportionately affects the black population

The ACA is solely the creation of the Democratic Party, and it is now harming a woman who has breast cancer.

Also, you didn't cite the sources of your alleged quotes by Republicans, and you didn't prove such quotes are representative of the Republican Party.

All you have done thus far is spread anti-Republican gossip.

health reform has been proposed by both republicans and democrats, it is just it has finally PASSED under democrats

ACA is not harming the woman, she is covered until the end of the year and people are eager to HOPE she dies instead of getting the healthcare from reform so they can blame the program, (instead of the insurance agency cancelling her,,, of course)

I didn't cite the sources, because I was asking to see if anyone was familiar with the sources in the party they claim blacks should omehow 'wake up' to embrace

putting them in any search engine will provide their source,, they are quotes

I am spreading 'anti republican' quotes and information in response to those spreading the nonsense that blacks are somehow illogical to not be affiliated with them

I know people scam EVERY service and institution there is, that has nothing to do with cutting those services and institutions

republicans continue to spread the nonsense that people are receiving things 'all the time', or that its in any way 'free'

I get literally sick of hearing it,, most who repeat it can proudly claim they have never been on it,, yet they know all about what those who are on it do or don't do or how much they get and for how long

if people commit fraud, prosecute the fraud, that's the solution

not to demonize and punish all the people who don't,,,

I'm not too ashamed to say I've been on welfare a couple of times during my life so I'm one that's been in the trenches and I can tell you that 75-80% of people on welfare are frauding.

I lived in a govt subsidized housing complex with 24 apts all inhabited by people on either disability or welfare. I was the only tenant paying my rent with money I made working full time to support my son and I. I was also the only tenant without a large screen TV coincidentally.

These people know how to work the system and the system does nothing about it. I called to report the fraud and was told they don't even have a fraud investigation unit!! They took my info and said they'd look into it. When I left there, the same people I reported were still living off taxpayers' dollars, getting drunk and buying drugs with our money while the govt took care of all their basic needs (food, shelter, utilities, medical care, dental care, clothing allowances, daycare expenses, car expenses including insurance and repairs, plus they got their check each month so they could have cash on hand- to the tune of nearly $2000/mo in benefits per family depending on size of family). Most of these people either had someone living in the household working and bringing home a check or were working under the table themselves while still collecting benefits. If neither of those applied, they were supplementing their govt benefits with money they made dealing drugs. Every single one of those households lived better off than my son and I did while I was the only one getting up and heading off to work 50-60 hrs a week just to pay rent and buy food. Something wrong with that picture, no?

I used welfare the way it was intended...as a temporary hand up, not a permanent handout. I left an abusive man and was a single mother. I struggled raising him alone and yes, I got assistance from the government at first, but I didn't stay on it. I lost more in benefits than I made for a paycheck when I first started working, yet I still chose to work because I didn't want something for nothing. I'm a rare bird indeed in the welfare flock though.

You say only rich republicans gripe about the poor on welfare and they've never been there so they should just be quiet. Well I've been there and I have the same gripe they do. I've seen the blatant fraud and waste of our taxpayer dollars. It's disgusting how ****ed up the system is and that democrats somehow think the people that really need and deserve help are getting it.

It's the old fish proverb. I'm sure you've heard it. "Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will never be hungry again." Democrats are throwing fish at people. Republicans are inviting them to pick up a pole and learn how to fish.

sounds clever,, but how recently were you on welfare,, it has been reformed quite a bit I the past decade or so?

how did you come by information about every other tenant in your dwelling or what they made or whether they had a big screen tv?

sounds like very friendly neighbors to share so much personal information with you during the time you weren't at work...

and, what exactly are republican doing to 'invite them to pick up a pole and learn how to fish'?

I saw a lot of it with my own eyes. I lived there. They'd be talking about their lives while sitting outside my front window drinking their 40's, or whatever the hell those big cheap beers are called, and smoking their blunts. My son had friends in the complex. They all hung together so he was in their apts. We both saw how they all lived. The lady who took my rent shared a bunch of info with me. She's the one that joked about every single one of them having large screen TVs. She'd know. She did the yearly inspections at the complex for fire codes. Why would I make this crap up? It's absolutely sickening how these people took advantage of the system.

I was in that apt from 1995 until I moved to Florida just over 2 yrs ago. I wasn't on welfare the whole time, only briefly as I said earlier, but I lived amongst the welfare crowd the whole time. You wanted to hear from someone that's been there...well there it is!

As for asking about republicans and the fishing pole analogy, c'mon now. You're an intelligent woman. You know exactly what I mean. They aren't literally trying to hand out actual fishing poles. The mindset between the two parties differs. That's all I was saying.
