Topic: Top Hospitals Opt Out Of Obamacare! | |
---|---|
The Obama administration has been claiming that insurance companies will be competing for your dollars under the Affordable Care Act, but apparently they haven’t surveyed the nation’s top hospitals.
Americans who sign up for Obamacare will be getting a big surprise if they expect to access premium health care that may have been previously covered under their personal policies. Most of the top hospitals will accept insurance from just one or two companies operating under Obamacare. “This doesn’t surprise me,” said Gail Wilensky, Medicare director for the first Bush administration and senior fellow for Project HOPE. “There has been an incredible amount of focus on the premium cost and subsidy, and precious little focus on what you get for your money.” Regulations driven by the Obama White House indeed have made insurance more affordable – if, like Kathleen Sebelius, you’re looking only at price. But responding to Obamacare caps on premiums, many insurers will, in turn, simply offer top-tier doctors and hospitals far less cash for services rendered. Watchdog.org looked at the top 18 hospitals nationwide as ranked by U.S. News and World Report for 2013-2014. We contacted each hospital to determine their contracts and talked to several insurance companies, as well. The result of our investigation: Many top hospitals are simply opting out of Obamacare. Chances are the individual plan you purchased outside Obamacare would allow you to go to these facilities. For example, fourth-ranked Cleveland Clinic accepts dozens of insurance plans if you buy one on your own. But go through Obamacare and you have just one choice: Medical Mutual of Ohio. Top Democrat says those aren't 'cancellation notices,' they're 'transitions' into Obamacare Insurance companies aren't sending out cancellation letters, they're helping people "transition" into Obamacare, according to a top Democrat. "If [the companies] changed [the insurance plans] then they have to notify the people who have to have the opportunity to have another policy," said House Ways and Means Committee ranking member Sander Levin, D-Mich. In fact, according to Levin, the "so-called cancellation notices" merely "help people transition to a new policy." Levin cited comments made by Florida Blue CEO Patrick Geraghty, the insurance company executive who originally floated the "transitioning" talking point on Sunday's Meet the Press. "We're not cutting people, we're actually transitioning people," Geraghty told NBC's David Gregory. "What we've been doing is informing folks that their plan doesn't meet the test of the essential health benefits, therefore they have a choice of many options that we make available through the exchange." Geraghty's argument may exonerate Florida Blue, but the fig leaf doesn't cover Obamacare nearly as well as Levin suggested, given that "the test of the essential health benefits" comes from Obamacare and invalidated the previously acceptable insurance policies. |

My questions are will the people fire democrats over this or keep them around? No. Most people don't even know what is going on and many rely on The MSM. |

Here's a great policy! REELECT NO ONE!! I dunno, I think Senator's Cruz and Rubio should be re-elected. I like Senator Paul on this issue but he is way to far out there one other important issues and his aspirations for higher office make me say vote him out as well. |

From what I am seeing on the news, the flight of the doctors and hospitals is scaring the Democrats to the point of turning on Obamacare.
It is going to be a different show when the "kick the can" show starts back up in January. |
